If after 36 posts, you are still having such a terrible time trying to correct such a simple problem, I strongly suggest you sell your tool box and let a outboard mechanic, even the worse outboard mechanic in your area take care of it. You either have no outboard and are simply wasting our time, pulling our leg to pass your time, or you're totally incapable of understanding the basic fundamentals of mechanics. It took 36 posts for you to notice that the brass shift connector and screws were stripped??? And racerone is getting laryngitis yelling that it doesn't matter what gear it's in... just pull the damn shift rod up where you can see what your doing. And now you noticed a rubber seal huh? Oh God... probably a lower crankshaft seal fell out of the powerhead!
