Re: Where have all the smaller Doral Owners Gone ???

hello , I used to be the canman , I made tin cans in chatham for 35 years . I joined this website back in 2006 . I will be glad when I get my boat back , I bought a bucket seat for it to replace the back to back on my side and I bought a new indash depthfinder for it . the only thing left to do on it is get a binimi top for it and its ready to go and a wax job .any way that's about it for now .

You just have to post some photos.

Stayed at Sturgeon Woods a few years ago for a weekend. It's OK but we much prefer Wildwood Conservation area near St Mary's. Campgrounds are always down to a personal choice though. Let us know how you liked it.

We are shutting the shop down Fri the 26th to get our trailers and boats in before everyone else ;) not much to compare for boats. Mine looks like heck, but cash is tight so it will have to be done pc by pc.

Here are some shots I took last year of her after I Did the Vortec Conversion and splashed some paint on her, gave her some Decals.

hi everyone , I think I have the wife talked out of buying a trailor , every park she checked out the trailors are to close together . had the boat out on the weekend , I think I am going to a four blade with a 19 pitch , with the 3 blade it is a 21 pitch and revs out at 5000 rpm , the book tells me 5250 rpm at wot , I hope that works .

You will get a MUCH better hole-shot with the 19". If you can swing it get a stainless prop. Well worth the money, even more so than the 4 blades IMHO.

Have you done any troubleshooting on it ?? (The gauge that is) Consider "porting" the prop for better hole shot on the bigger pitch prop.

hello , I didn't do any work on it at all . I took it to chatham to get no feedback steering installed and the gas gauge fixed and put in a water temp gauge installed . they put in a new sending unit and said it was good to go . well , we went out sunday for a ride in it the no feedback steering is great we left the dock and the gauge said full we came back 4 hours later and it still said full . the wife said the motor is good on gas , I told her I need a new wife and a bigger motor ..

I ran my doral 250SE and also my doral 190 bowrider on lake St Clair for almost 10 years. In fact stainless is better as it is stronger. Also it is actually EASIER to weld stainless props then aluminum ones

Nasty hit on a stainless prop transfers the shock into the lower unit and beyond potentially causing a lot of damage internally. An aluminum prop gives out earlier as it is weaker and transfers a lot less shok internally. Give me an aluminum prop in those situations every time.

My 190 had a center replaceable hub that was rubber mounted for just that reason. If you have a mercruiser with a factory replaceable center hub, it should be the same too. I try to avoid hits like that.... ;)

Re: Where have all the smaller Doral Owners Gone ???

hi everyone , tried the 4 blade 19 pitch on the weekend and it works great , wot is 47 mph with the gps and rpm is 5200 .the shop called me today and said the new sending unit is working but the problem is the sending unit is at the back of the tank so since the boat does not sit level in the water all the fuel is going to the back of the tank where the sending unit is . they are going to try a different one and see if it works . it sounds a little strange to me .

You should be abla to "aim" the sending unit to the centre of the tank. Let me know f you still have issues and I can maybe help out. Just done one on a friends Bayliner.
