Re: Where is my Torque-Shift Prop?

Absolutely correct, Land & Sea out of stock and Ebay doesn't have one for my stern drive. Beside i'm not too comfortable doing business there. I once bought a case of apples and got a basket of oranges. Needless to say I had to eat it. Thanks anway.

Anyone looking to rid a Torque-Shift prop for a volvo stern drive, You have what I want and I'm sure I have what you need. Email me at

M3--250@hotmail.com

GQ,

I sold one last year and watched ebay for a couple of months before and after. They do show up so keep watching, but all that I recall were for Mercs . . . I think you have a hunt on your hands.

BTW, I would never consider a torque-shift as a spare? Why do you want it? If your primary prop does what you want . . .

Exactly, I was pretty sure you'd say something about that. Can't see having only one and using it only for emergencies . . .

Re: Where is my Torque-Shift Prop?

Greetings Gents..............I'll keep this short. My problem is I want more speed and good hole shot. I currently have three props. (3 blades Al., 3 blades SS, 4 blades composite adjustible). Fully loaded, I get 45mph at 5000rpm in calm water, but I can't get on plane without triming all the way down on the Al. prop. The SS, i get better hole shot. reach a top speed of 45mph at 4700rpm, but still not enough. With the composite, i get on plane in seconds even while towing a tanker. The prop. is unbelievable, but my speed drop to 40mph at 4300rpm.

My understanding is a torque-shift prop will give me top end speed while maintaining good hole shot. It will be my primary prop if i can find one. Hint the word "spare". in my orginal post. The prop doctor (walleyehed) doesn't recommend it. Hopefully he won't read this.

Originally I wanted to get the 6 cycl. gxi, but i couldn't find anyone that would give me a deal on my 4 cycl. So i guess i'll go with the Torque-Shift.

OOOh Bondo is that "spare" torque-**** mate to a volvo stern drive? If so I would like to hear more. :D E mail me...

walleyehed, please. And I'm not the Prop Doc, and by all means, find a torq-shift and run it...
Mercury tried a version and it's no longer listed in the book because it just wasn't the answer...it's been around for years but never really caught on.

Re: Where is my Torque-Shift Prop?

Right now, there are at least three torque shift props on ebay (link1) (link2) (link3) , plus one Power2 by Mercury (link4) . All look to be in great shape. Why not get one of those and have it rehubbed to fit your Volvo? (assuming this is possible, of course). Or, better still, buy the prop now and make sure your next boat has a Mercury drive... :D
