Re: where to boat in Indiana/lakes
Hey Treeman,
Definitely Cagles Mill. It's not nearly as big as the other reservoirs in the state, but definitely a very nice one.
We live between Anderson and Muncie, but have very good friends that live in Cloverdale, and we've spent a number of days with them on that lake. We've trailered our boat to their house on Fridays, then spent all day on the lake Sturday, and most of Sunday afternoon after church. On none of the days we've been there has it been very crowded. If you go, keep in mind that it has two main sections connected by a small channel. The channel looks like a cove, so if you don't know the lake, you wont' know it's a channel.
A nice feature is that on the northern part, there is a beach that that is around 200 yards long, but only the center 100 yards or so are for swimmers. The rest allows you to beach the boat, if that's what you want to do, if not, you can get as close to the beach as you want.
We've used that many times since we had a small (16') boat, and there was a total of 9of us, so we'de set up a picnic on the beach, and take turns being on the boat or on the beach. It's probably the most fun we've had on any Indiana lake.
I'm jealous, you're only about 30 minutes from it. Try it, you'll like it.
Have fun,
Jorge
