Looked around a bit and am shocked at what they want for a basic wakeboard tower. (Come on, it's aluminum tubing and a few fasteners) Anyone have a lead on low cost towers?

I don't know where you live. I bought mine from a marine wholesaler that sells new surplus. He has a large assortment of new manufacturer towers. If you bring your boat they will help you putting towers on your boat to get the best fit. They are located outside Milwaukee Wisc. Plus you can haggle on the price.......

Here is a link to there ebay store. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MALI...7863573QQptZBoatQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQ5fGear

I bought tower racks and light bar from diywake.com His products are quality and he makes towers.

I settled for a removable pole from Bart's. Only a couple hundred bucks and works find. I could get it out of the way when I wanted to use the boat for something else...... just a comment... if you are putting it on a I/O I/O conversiond don't make great wake board boads..... can't control or shape the wake..

Sure it's aluminum tubing and a few fasteners, but the prefabbed ones all the hard work is done, you just need to install it. If you have the ability to build your own, that's the way to go, but most people (like myself) don't, so I'll probably buy a Monster or something like it.

Pylons are the same. For $60 in materials and some elbow grease you can make one. You can also buy a nice one with great padding, high quality fasteners, logos etc for $300 - 500.

It's all a trade off. Cash or time.

smitty....due to shipping and duty issues....i boats will probably be cheaper, and a lot faster....

canadians have a real hard time bringing stuff across the boarder, and to get it into the states you have to give your social security number so the tower will become part of the united states.....sounds weird, but i have exported lots of stuff across the boarder....its real tough....

If you've already got a boat without a tower... there'a also the option of a rack system that mounts directly to your boat on the cleat at Liquid Courage Watersports go to www.l-c-w.com These racks attach to the cleat and also come with a package to mount to the tower when you get a tower and tha's included in the cost. We got our tower from Rocky Mountain Boat company at a pretty fair price. Best luck!
