Which glue???

putting my outdrive back on and manual says i need to install and glue rubber gasket inside bellhousing of transom bracket . which glue? is there a name for the rubber gasket? i have an alpha one 2nd gen outdrive. any help would be apprecaited

The Merc bellows adhesive is what I have always used.

You talkin' about that big square 'O' ring for a merc? I think the manual said perfect seal which is the same as the OMC's and permabond non hardening gasket sealer.

i used black gasket adhesive on that and water oring and let them dry before installing outdrive.

We always use Gask-a-cinch (the can with the girl on it, which is why my wife sez we use it). Actually anything that will hold them in place during installation will work.

This is what I like to use also, The brush at the end makes it kind of easy to use.

I use 3M gasket adhesive.
