Ok, remember in the winter when I told you guys I was gonna pull the 454 ci in my Chris-Craft Limited, and put in a warmed up 502 Mag ? Well, Im getting ready to pull the old motor, and I need to know which motor mount bolts to pull. Is it the single one on each side on the top of the stringer mount ? Or do I pull the two base bolts on each stringer mount ? I was told if I do it right, everything should line right back up because the blocks are the same. We are gonna still check it, but this will make it easier. Thanks. :D

Keep the mounts attached to the engine and remove the bolts or lags from the stringer.

Absolutely the easiest way to handle that situation. You will be able to keep your engine at at almost constant level and reduce your need to make a lot of adjustments. In a perfect world you should just be able to replace the motor and the lower unit should slide right back on without a lot of extra work.
