My last laptop had Vista on it and I absolutely hated it. The wireless utility on it was complete garbage. I could be 5 feet away from my router and still have a poor connection.
I have 7 now and I love it. I have IT friends and they said to stay clear of 8. Way too many bugs and microsoft can track a lot more of your online activity.

Your IT friends need to wear more tinfoil in their hats. One of the first things you do when 8 sets up a new user profile is to set how much info you want to share with MS and the default is very restrictive. I'll bet these same folks post every time they take a crap on Twitter or Facebook

lol...i don't disagree w/you...talking OS speak is french to me. Just give me something that works w/the fewest issues. I liked XP a lot but hated Vista...Currently rocking 7 and I like it a lot as well. It also helps that it's a quad core and running i7.
