About a HUNDRED YEARS ago before my bearing got fried I was taking my warmup spin while my wife parked the hauling rig. We have a 1993 Sierra 16 footer with walkout front powered by a Yamaha L4 3.0 Litre 130 Horsepower I/O. Well I like to come in HOT when the way is clear{we were the only boat on the lake at the time}so I was coming in at about 40 thinking I had the timing just right to shut down, trim the unit up and coast in to shore. But not taking into consideration that Iusually had 1 or 2 more people with me the boat stayed planed out a LOT farther and there I was with about 10 feet of 16 out of the water. Fortunately{?} there were two motorcyclists taking a break at the beach by the launch who aided greatly{chuckling all the while}in getting enough footage back in the water to make floating possible. Needless to say I haven't made that mistake again although I am looking forward to watching my wife shake her head each time I approach shore in that manner. GOOD HUMOR!!!!!!!!!!!
