Ohio has their law in effect for about a year now. Has the crime rate gone down? I don't know since there hasn't been anything published or aired on its effect. However like everything else, if it is good, you won't hear about it. I'm sure if the crime rate went up due to it, I'm sure the whole union would have heard about it.<br /><br />BTW, Ohio will be giving up the worst gov'nor in Ohio history. But somehow we got our right to carry passed. <br /><br />The majority of the people think that everyone will qualify to get one, but that is not true. One must meet strict requirements and training before being issued one. What sucks is that anyone with a criminal mind can get a gun regardless of any law.<br /><br />Why should we pay taxes on a service that cannot be utilized? Taxation without representation comes to my mind. Meanwhile, I'm in favor of self protection until better protection is available to the public. Good Luck Wisconsin, you deserve better!

technicaly and I can only speak for wisconsin, you can carry in the street as long as it is visable nothing says you cant walk down main street with a pistol straped to your hip except that it may not go over so well in our "civilized" society. <br />I feel this is law that should be passed even though I probably would not carry because I do not feel there is a threat to warent it in my comunity.
