It's a beautiful combo. The cloud white Merc with a finned boat,a big thumbs up.Post up at Fiberglassics.com if you want any more input or info.If she was close to me for that price I would of flagged the post and while the computer was shutting down been on my way to pick her up.Heck he even has BO written down so for few hundred you have very cool showboat that looks like it it may need a paint job on the hull depending on how far you want to take it resto wise, but overall a solid find. The only problem is at the launch ramp it may take a while to put her in and take her out as you will be bombarded with questions. The motor is worth 5-750 all day long, trailer 2/250 and the hull 1000, all $$ as is,you do the math!!!

Kinda along the lines I was thinking. I think that motor looks cool as hell! I would definately do a full restore if I got her. Slowly because not alot of extra cash floating around now for sure. But I think it might be worth grabbing and putting in the garage. I'm gonna go see her tmrw if I can get ahold of the guy. Looks like to me it has the original bow lights, spot etc. Be interesting to see what kind of shape the interior/flooring etc is in. I agree the motor itsself is worth what he's asking.

Hey man, I'm pretty sure thats down at Smokies marine. He put the motor in my boat. I'm sure he would let her go cheap. I think most the boats on his lots are from people that couldn't afford the repair or storage fees. To big of a project for me, I was thinking a garage project.;) The boat I have now is plenty big for me.

Good luck and keep me up to date.Usually on Fiberglassics. Sometimes I have had problems emailing through there listed link on CL. I just copy down the email listed and send it the way I would send a friend email. Always had good response doing it that way, just make your heading look like its not some scam.Probably would not take a lot of cash to restore as DIY on fiberglassics are all willing to give you info and tell you what not to spend money on.I bet you that motor need a carb cleaning maybe a fuel pump diaphragm and a impeller and its good to go.

yeah It says in the add that it is.... not this year but maybe next year... late fall I might go see him about a next project....

that little one would be neat too but I'd be nervous on the river in it.... it's a shame we don't have more lakes close by here.

I really wouldn't be nervous on the river as long as I got in there and restored it myself. As long as that motor runs, think it would be cool to play around with. Guess I should go pay smokie the rest of the money I owe him first.

I love those engines. But you need to know that some parts for that engine just ARE NOT available at any cost. Be sure the magneto is in good working order before finding out later when you TRY to find repair parts for it.....That engine if it runs is worth double the price you pay for the whole deal.merc 300 017.jpg picture is a look inside of the magneto

Thanks for the heads up man, I will be sure to check that out. His add doesn't really say wether it runs or not.

I love that little runabout. The fins alone are worth and are scientifically proved to make it go faster........probably. A white, 1960's era big twin would be perfect on there too. Should make for a fun project and you'll be the coolest guy on the water next season, which all that really matters :) Good luck. Keep us posted. We loooove pics.

Did anyone notice that the photobucket pictures appear to be posted by our friend and fellow iboats member Rickairmedic or am I off base on this one?

Lmao, it would be quiker to put your boat in and paddle across than getting across that bridge. I just turned down a job over there because I wasn't going to travel across that mess every day. Only six more months and they might get started on the repairs.

To answer you question, no, I have not seen the boat yet. Got tied up this weekend and wasn't able to go see it. I'm having second thought with the economy the way it is. It would be fun and it is definately worth the money. Idk, we shall see. I may change my mind in a couple minutes.:)
