Re: Would you vacation in Cuba?
For the next five years I think we've got plenty of places to go in the U.S. Plus, I've tired of the hassle related to leaving/entering the country; I'd much rather fly to a beach in FL and be on the sand in 15 minutes.
When our kids are grown and gone, and *if* it gets easier to travel outside the U.S. then I might be inclined to give it a shot. I'd probably be more willing to first visit "tropical" locations that are safe (we've cut Mexico out of our near future plans), reasonably priced, have good infrastructure, and plenty of decent accomodations. From what I've read Cuba would have a real hard time keeping up with U.S. visitors that could number anywhere from 500,000 to 1M per year. Sounds like their hotels are already at 70%+ capacity during the high seasons. Granted, hotels can be built, but they don't spring up overnight.
