Three Hondas in my garage. Each manufactured in USA/Canada. Have owned nothing but Honda since 1997. No complaints, all 9 of them are still in use within the family.

MADE IN THE USA? assembeled in the usa,the people getting rich off them live in japan, and spend the money in japan. assembling the cars are just service work and jobs, the real money is from the factory sales of the vehicles and thats supporting japans economy. the parts manufacturing sales are also japans. I choose to support americas economy ,and I worked for independant repair shops for 35 years, the hondas come in the shop on a tow truck for a oil soaked destributor quite often and toyotas with o2 sensor problems, and they are not cheap.and thier also a nightmare to work on. no thank you,you can have them,I have a 93 saturn SL2 thats showing 285000 miles now, cars in good shape, uses 1 quart of oil between services, and I have a 1991 explorer, transmissions weak, but the rest of the truck is in great shape,233000 miles and uses no oil bettween services.I once worked on a 1965 barracuda, original owner,it had 1 million 1 hundred thousand miles on it,and was on its 3rd engine. if a domestic car is breaking down on you,you may want to check to make sure your servicing it properly, and on time,I have no problems with them.:)

Nice: I had a '67 Barracuda with the huge rear window fastback thing. 273 C.I. , 4 spd. Gave some Chevelle's and GTO's a run. Usually lost:(
No, always lost.

Gee, I wonder if it's still running.

Welcome to the new corporate world.

This is true. It is a world economy now. I battle this demon in my head often. I've driven american trucks since I've been able to drive, but I now have a toyota tundra.

Would you rather put food on the table of a foreign factory worker because it is an american company; or would you put food on the table of an american worker that works for a foreign company. I personally chose the later because I don't care if its an american company; if they ship the jobs overseas how does that help John Q Public here.

Also my 401k has toyota and nissan in the portfolio. So realisticallly I own some of those companies and I'm an american citizen.

I believe my 07 Tundra was made in Indiana.

Re: wow!!, a USA product

dont want to get political here, but buying local is sooooo important. every time we buy a forign car we put one of our guys outta work.
im canadian, but our countries are so closely linked we are brothers.

i own a big ticket store and try to keep all of my purchases north american.
its so hard cause a lot is just assembled in the us/can.
labors so cheap over seas that big companies cant afford not to produce there.
UNLESS THE CONSUMER WONT BUY OFFSHORE!
then the companies would have to produce here. and the consumer would demand quality by not putting up with a s**t product like we are now from china
your gonna pay a lot more for made in usa but it will come back to you in the long run.
im a big fan of import autos( just for example) but wont own one cause i dont want my hard earned pennies going elsewhere.
i could go on for ever

but id better take my blood perssure meds now!

cheers!

somebody give this man a medal.. :) now this is the way I have been thinking.. buying cheap were selling out our country.. they come over here with all the money they made off us and buy up land & businesses.. and even professional jobs and hi tech jobs are going overseas, its not just the manufacturing jobs were losing now..

Re: wow!!, a USA product

I bought a US flag from Wal Mart that said in large print "Made in USA". Got it home and read the fine print and it said, flag made in USA. Flagpole and all other hardware made in China.

After 9/11 someone was passing around the cheapo plastic US flags and stamped on them it said "Made in China"

Kinda ironic, eh?

Im surprised the flag was made here,I would think it would be packaged in the usa. I bought some 2.5 in. cut off wheels for my air powered cut off tool from harbor freight ONCE only to look at the fine print and see their made in USSR.
