My Yamaha aluminium propeller says 11 1/8 x 13
What are these measurements for?

Will the 10 x 13 size be used with this motor? (I just saw a cheap SS one comes up from eBay)

Thanks

Re: Yamaha 40HP propeller

11-1/8 is the diameter of the prop in inches. 13 is the pitch. Pitch is the theoretical distance the prop will push the boat in one revolution. 13P would push the boat 13 inches forward with each revolution. That is of course theoretical since the prop operates in a liquid and there is slippage. A 10 inch diameter prop would likely not be correct since the hub diameter might be incompatible with the gearcase on your engine. Then the splines might be different as well. You need some part numbers in order to tell. Generally, a prop with that much difference in diameter is not intended for your engine.

Thank you. This would help a lot! Save me from buying the wrong one.
