your opinion on a good older CC or WA

I am in the used market for a CC or WA in the 20' to 23' range. in your opinion, which older brands(1980's,1990's) would you recomend . i would be willing to do a little restoration to a classic if the price was right.high sides are a must for kids. which brands should be avoided? thanks for any info.

Theres some nice small wellcraft and grady white cc's and wa's in that year range around. There are plennnnty of small walkaround Gw's in that year range all over. Do a little sniffing around

I own a 76 V20. It's in perfect shape. They're built like tanks and very customizable. Mine is a fishing machine.

I had a 76 V 20 in the 80's when I first started fishing.. I've increased in size a few times since then and am now up to 31'..but i still remember the great functionality, versatility, and fishability that boat offered in only 20 feet...btw..where r u in central nj

We need to know how you want to use the boat before making recommendations in that era.

Generally speaking, a CC is going to ride better because of the weigh distribution and the helm being further back from the bow.

The other variable is the hull design. Can't speak for the Welcraft but Grady gradually changed all their models over to the SeaV2 hull in the early 90's.
The old style hull came standard with chiropractic insurance, as did most small boat hulls of that time period. The difference in ride between the old style and the SeaV2 hull is like day and night.
