The hum of the motor. Nothing messes up the peace of living on a lake more than someone blasting crappy music that can be heard by every house on the lake.

Re: Your wakeboarding playlist

Unfortunately I?m not able to. I don?t have a tower or obviously tower speakers to allow me to listen to anything. If I did though I probably still wouldn?t listen to what I like (slipknot, mudvayne, static x that type of thing) out of respect for others on our lake. There is only one boat that has tower speakers and you can clearly hear everything they listen to when you sit on our porch. Kind of embarrassing when you?re sitting on the porch with your family and they go by playing back that azz up if you know what I mean.

I dont blare it if theres a bunch of people around, but I hit the lake early before most people are out there so its pretty free range... and the lake is terrible for fishing so not many fishernman out there. And never vulgar songs... I also download radio edits if its something I really like but has language.

Unless there are no houses on the lake - there is always someone "out there" especially early in the morning. It's actually less of an issue when there are many boats out on the water - as far as the noise carrying.

Something like this might be a good idea ;)

There are no houses on the side of the lake that we are on, and its not a live on lake so no houseboats either. That device is pretty cool, but theres a reason the boat comes with a system :)

Well at least your considerate about it. The guys on our lake aren't and it can be embarassing at times. You know its funny.... After having kids I'm turning into the old fart that I thought I would never turn into:D

My Playlist is a bunch of everything.

Yes I listen to it when I ride and when I am on the boat.

It not as loud as the dang open exhaust boats... so get over it.

No I dont ride by homes, and no I don't ride by marinas.

Re: Your wakeboarding playlist

A couple of weekends ago, we were returning to our spot in a cove and there was another group that had set up down the beach from us (they were very polite btw). As we are chatting with them, their friends with the boat shows up - playing Ride with Valkeries over the killer stereo- you know the song that was played in Apocalypse Now when Robert Duvall is flying in the helicopter over the beach. Probably the best damn entrance I've ever seen. We were so impressed - I had to download the song to the IPOD - copying is the best form of flattery.

The were very nice people and considerate - but will never forget that entrance.

Re: Your wakeboarding playlist

We get good clear FM on our lake (resort town) so we usually listen to the local dance/hip hop station. It's my wife's choice since she usually drives.

But when I drive, it's usually the country station.

We don't have tower speakers and I probably won't install them.

Re: Your wakeboarding playlist

So without tower speakers are you using just the factory ones your boat came with? - can you hear this out in the water or are the tunes just for those in the boat?
Thanks

Re: Your wakeboarding playlist

I installed 6.5" three ways in the sides of the open bow myself.

The rear speakers are in boxes I mounted under the gunnels, and are another pair of 6.5" three ways (Kicker marine audio speakers).

Both of these sets are powered off of deck power.

I have a 12" sub near the battery.

I can hear the stereo when I surf. Not when I board. It's the least of my concerns out there anyway. I'm still a beginner.

I'm not wild about tower speakers. I don't like the way the cans look. Music out the back of the boat just isn't a big priority for me right now. Maybe on my next boat when I decide I need something ELSE to keep clean and polished.

Sounds like a nice option to tower speakers. Can't say I am ever up long enough behind a boat to listen to a whole song anyways!

I don't like Cans either.

I have a Fiberglass enclose on my tower that holds 4 6X9's (Tidal Audio Marine). Its Gel Coated like the boat... easy maintenance.
