Might add that my #2 daughter is a medical corps officer in the Navy Reserve (LCDR), served Desert Storm. Before that she served from 1976 to 1980 as enlisted. . .in the same squadron (VR-21) I was in when she was born.

Son served in USMC 1985-1991. Also Desert Storm.

Step-Grandson serves on a destroyer in the gulf as I write.

Danged proud Dad/Granpa here. 8)

U.S. Navy.

Graduated from the Academy in 1998, active duty until 2005, inactive reserve until 2006.

Surface Warfare Officer at the beginning, transferred to the Civil Engineer Corps. Obtained rank of Lieutenant (O-3).

USN 70-76 four west pac cruises,two spec ops in Hai Phong and one in Cambodia.As I recall,one of the operations included the USS Inchon that woodduck17 listed above.If memory serves me the Inchon was a LPH vessel.

You guys in this thread should enjoy this. Vet or not.

One of my wifes younger sisters
ROTC AF became an engineer and made the rank of Major (04)
10 -12 years or so.
Decided to be a doctor.
Back down to Lt (01) again and just made major again about
three years ago as a ER Doctor.

This has really turned out to be a clean thread.
