It's Haf Al Batain. I was there in 1991 (Shield) playing with the 3rd Armored.

I recognise that bridge....
crossed it a few time back in early 70's.
Have some really good 35mm slides of it, or should I say, events that took place on or about it.

Dont know what it was like in the 70's but in the mid 80's it was another world.

Met the wife during my AIT.
We were both in the US Army Reserve 1986-1992.
Activated Jan-Mar 1991 to support the Desert Storm build up in Fort Sill, OK.

USN 1960-1979 with 2 years at Cubi Point. Olongapo was great in the mid 60's.

Tried the Surface side, tried the Air side and don't care for either one. The military is not for everyone and I am looking forward to getting out and moving on in January. I won't complain though I met my wife almost 2 years ago here in Oak Harbor. We will have been married 2 years in Dec. we have a beautiful little girl with another on the way. All and all life is good!

Sympathy for the guys that were well over the hump to retirement and threw it all away by getting out. Second income and benefits at a young age. Go figure.
