There was a lot of precipitation moving up the eastern side of North American yesterday and the day before.

At the same time, a low pressure system from way up North (yup, us Canadians again) shoved its way far down south into GA and FL. Looks like you've experienced it.

We got 5-6 inches last night from it and temps in the 20s. TD, I'll gladly trade you weather.:D

It's cold here in Arizona as well . . . looking at a high of 90, low of 65. Brrr.

Time for a light jacket in the early mornings on the lake. :D

About half a dozen years ago or so we went to Disney over Thanksgiving.
The first day was nice. The second day they hit 31 degrees. I was told it broke a record by 9 degrees. The rest of the week was in the 40's and rainy and back up in to 70 the last day.

Global warming produces extremes in temperature, not just warmth, but cold too.

Tasha does love the cold weather, lies in the backyard and suns. in the summer she on the family room floor during the day, and outside at night.

Tasha - I was stationed for a brief time at Mayport in my previous life. I had the Bosslady come down one January ('68 I believe) and was amazed to see the foam that was accumulating on the beaches as the waves rolled in. I assumed it was because of the cold. We did a lot of touristy stuff over a long weekend and darn near froze. Thank goodness that the motel floors were heated.

Later that year, I was stationed in Saratoga Springs, NY, from November to April and we would take midnight walks in 30 below to the local Stewarts Ice Cream store. Jacksonville felt colder.

hmm i love the cold...but would like boating season to last longer too
here (richmond) we haven't gotten more than 1" of snow in the past three or four years..i would love a freezing winter with alot of the white stuff.
my dad (who is from Erie PA) insists that is because I never had to shovel two feet of it out of the driveway every morning :)

and your dad is correct.......i tryed to move to a place where....if you wanted snow.....you could drive to it.....but with climate change.....mannn we are shoveling a lot over the past 10 years.....i think im just gonna have to move and fly to the snow when i want it !

you may like skiing or sledding......but cold weather aint fun

Re: record cold in Florida

I used to like winter because of the outdoor rinks and skating on the ponds. Now I'm an adult, play in 2-3 mens leagues year round indoors. I could do without the bitter cold.

But, I really don't mind the cold, just would prefer a shorter season of it.

Global Warming is gone ! It lost it's popularity when it was renamed Climate Change. This too has lost it's flavor and we are now focusing on "Share the Wealth".
