ezeke- you posted "The kits to rebuild the gasoline side of the VRO/OMS pumps contain two part numbers: 0435921 and 0436095." do i need to order both of those numbers if i wanted to rebuild? or just one? like are they two numbers for the same product? or does one number contain items not available to the other number?

If it's the black pulse limiter it should have been replaced with one that is blue and gold. If it's blue and gold, clean it and test it. It should close under quick higher pressure to prevent damage to the pump membrane.

List price for the VRO two part rebuild kit is around $100. US Total; On-line discounters sell them for a little less

So is this enough gas from the pump? I am going to do this test on mine in about an hour and would like to know if that is a sufficient amount of gas

Hey man I will. Mine will start but isn't running very well at all. I will do a test and post a video if I can. Or I will let you know if I have more or less flow

If you get it from Bill Kelly (maxrules.com), he sells it as a kit which contain both parts. He provides the support, which I don't think anyone else does.

If you buy it from anywhere else like boats.net, order both part numbers.

mines only a 15hp, it prolly won't push out more fuel than yours. I didn't even think to look at your hp.

Why not get the whole thing for $135 from maxrules? They have 9 parts, a good picture of how, etc. There's no guarantee those two parts will do it anyway, but hey, it's your money. I've lost interest here.

thats my intention. get the whole thing from him. now when you refer to the whole thing are you referring to a whole pump? its my impression he will only be sending the rebuild parts for 135$ not a pump. correct?

Re: Bad fuel pump? *video*

ok kit ordered from maxrules. last question. i just realized that the cap on the oil side of the pump that i placed on there years ago has a very large crack in the cap. air being drawn through there wouldnt cause this issue right?

ill post results from my rebuild when the kit comes in. see if it fixes my problem.

thank you to every one who has helped. i know its tedious but it is much appreciated by me i can assure you.

Pump rebuild was good worked ok. Thought I had fuel delivery problem that is why I went to the 2 pump system. The problem on mine was when I tore the carbs down to clean I reinstalled jets in the wrong place. Now I have a good vro pump that I will need one day .

Re: Bad fuel pump?

i went and took it apart. and what i found was actually interesting.

1st findings are that this is a very simple machine.
2nd i found a rather large piece of plastic in there. i checked every inch of that pump and cant seem to locate where it came from. so my guess would be when i broke the fuel inlet elbow a few years back a piece went up and not down. who know. but its not from the pump.
3rd the large rubber washer has a nick taken out of it. very small on the edge. i took pictures of both items.

and lastly i shot a short video to show the flow that im now getting through the pump which is indeed more than i had before. but still seems like not enough. please view the video and let me know what you think.

thanks.

Nowhere near enough fuel and you were aiming it downwards as well. I usually check aiming it horizontally or slightly upward. Should be strong consistent spurts !!!

Any source of air will cause problems, so it's important to seal the oil side airtight as well as insuring that the gasoline side is airtight.

Re: Bad fuel pump? *video*

so ordered my rebuild kit from maxrules. and got a good used pump off ebay for 76$ still a 200$ investment but Im going to keep the second pump on the boat jusstttttt in case. or if i rebuild mine and it still wont work. so im going to hook up the used pump make sure it works and check for how much flow mine "should" have after the build.
