Bilge full of oil

Hey guys, went out on the boat about 2 weeks ago and everything was great drove for a good 4 hours with no problem and bilge had little to no water. Was trying to go boating today again and opened the ski locker and it's full of oil(my boat sits at decline that's why it went to the front). Any ideas?

It looks like engine oil but hard to tell from here. Check oil levels and find out what's down. You may have to level the boat first.

I leveled boat as best as I can with trailer jack and the oil was half way between the add and the bottom of the dip stick so this is definitely engine oil.
I'm kicking my self for not opening the engine compartment though after/while riding last time...
But boat did have good oil pressure and temperature while riding it.
It's a 2003 maxum 1900sr with 4.3 carbed mercruiser

Is it possible that the bow was low enough for the oil to flood the timing cover seal?

I'd be checking the drain plug gasket and that there isn't a rust hole in the pan

No way that's all engine oil or the oil pan would be bone dry. It's too clear, it must be oil floating on water. Was the bilge oily before taking the boat out and where is the water coming from?

Doubt it because it sat for a month before going out last time with no oil in the bilge, how big would the decline have to be for that to happen?

Check the fluid to see what it is. Your dipstick is showing maybe 2 or 3 qts' low. That's more than 3 quarts of fluid.

How steep is the parking spot?

My driveway is about 25 feet and elevates about a foot from the sidewalk to my garage, doubt the driveway is the problem, I've seen boats on way steeper declines.

Also can it be anything other than engine oil? It's not the outdrive oil because my outdrive oil reserver is almost full.

I'm thinking I'm going to add more oil to make it full, and run on muffs to see if It starts leaking fast enough for me to find the spot. Can I add 5w-30 car oil for the test because I'm going to be changing the oil out anyways after I find the leak?

Looks like my boat when I had a rusted out oil pan.

Not sure the oil pan is rusted out either, I took a video with my phone of the underside of my engine and didn't look rusted, I'll try uploading the video to Google Drive and try linking it here

I had a tiny nick in the paint of my pan that rusted out. Doesn't take much.

There are a lot of possibilities for oil leaks. If you have a remote oil filter check the adapter that screws into the block. Of course you would lose oil there only when the engine is running.

Video is private. For sharing but not have it come up in random people's searches change to unlisted. Then someone has to use the link you posted to find it.

Its hard to say where the oil came from and there are a lot of possibilities.

Whatever is going on, you have another issue. You need to park the boat nose up and drain plug out so rain drains out.
In this case its sort of a good thing its nose down because you have something pouring oil into the bilge and you would probably have not found it as early if the boat was draining. But that hull is going to fill when it rains. The hull is not made to withstand that on the trailer and the trailer isn't made for the weight.

Pretty much impossible for me at current decline unless I put a log under the front trailer jack but don't want to do that while using the boat, I'll do that for winter but my boat cover should keep the water out good enough that what you described wouldn't be a problem

Start here....

Clean it.

Then, after topping off the oil level, take it to the lake and run it 5 min. Then new pictures.

Or maybe you'll see the leak.

Can't see the leak in that mess.

Maybe its been leaking really slowly a long time and it just floated the oil up to where you noticed.

Oil pressure senders can rust and leak as well as oil filters, timing covers and the oil pan.

If the oil pressure sender has a bakelite/plastic insulator the crimp frequently lets go and oil under pressure can make a mess in an engine bay or under the hood of your car. Another frequent mistake (oversight) is having the oil filter gasket sticking to the filter base. You add the new filter and you now have two gaskets, on atop of the other which cannot hold the oil pressure so they blow out again creating a mess.
