Thanks. Skis are 2016. I'm looking at the API SN spec, 5w-40 or 15w-40 for the seadoo. Yamaha is "Recommended engine oil type SAE:a lot of guys use Rotella T6 5w-40 in the skiis, not sure if that translates to german well. If I recall the BMW LL3 spec is not an easy cross ref.
The voltage loss is a good start on the CEL. What years are the skiis ?
The jet pump maint is no big deal our 2004 sea doo was simple just a PITA to wait for the lube to fill on the 1/8" fill plug on it. Newer one is greased and if you are bored with oil threads ask on the PWC forums if grease or gear lube is better...
Same issue on my end as when my dad passed this year I lost my trailer driver ... The jestski I do on our shore with the tractor, my boat and my brothers boat need to go to the launch. A neighbor and friend need help with his dock so offered to drive but wanted to use his SUV which didnt have a 5 flat and the wire was too short anyways. Next year Ill walk the two miles after leaving our SUV there...
SAE 10W-30, 10W-40, 20W-40, 20W-50
Recommended engine oil grade API:
API SE,SF,SG,SH,SJ,SL"
So the 5w-40 euro should be a good oil i think, probably overkill. I get a little hesitant running a diesel oil on a newer gas engine, esp one that's running 9k rpm. I would never run one in a GDI engine (these aren't, but don't know enough about the engines yet).
What are you using in yours?
I'll have a driver of either a ski, boat or trailer with the boy about to get his license (and can drive a stick, natch). My solution this year was 2 bikes in the back of the truck. Drive truck to ramp, bike back. Boat to ramp, drive back with boat/trailer. Reload with 2 bikes, swap trailers, drive to ramp, bike #1 back home. Ski #1 to ramp, leave it there, bike #2 back. Ski #2 to ramp, load both, drive home. Surprisingly everything went according to plan.
