I need a question answered. I was thinking of pulling the gimbal and transom assembly and trying to clean it up and re-paint it, but the corrossion is pretty bad. I've seen some project boats and such on Craigslist and am wondering if I'd be better off getting a non-corroded Alpha one outdrive...

The swim platform looks like it may be 2 pieces of 3/4 or maybe 5/8 ply encased in glass with a glass only lip going all the way around...
