    Battery bank bonding

All your negatives should be bonded at one point or to a negative bus bar from that one ground, don't go to the battery stud.

    Transom on fiberglass boat

Marine plywood just has ext. glue. Whatever you do, seal it. Get your pieces cut and fit and ready to install and coat liberally with 2 coats of epoxy. Just use the 2 part stuff like you were doing fiberglass with matting. just use the 2 part mix and let dry between coats. It will be good...

Seastar xtreme NFB rotary steering - anyone use this?

I have installed a new NFB steering in a Glasply project I am working on. Have not tested yet. It was an I/O I converted to a bracketed outboard with a new Honda 115HP. I have had non hydraulic steering with 3 other 115hp motors. So I opted to not go hydraulic and am anxious to see how it...

    Starting from scratch

Question, should your neg. feed to the secondary negative buss be a separate wire? Not using the 3 house battery terminals? I also have a secondary neg buss. on a direct connection to the main ground.

    73 Sea Ray restoration

I enjoyed your story so far. I am restoring a 1981 Glasply from a Volvo I/O to a bracketed outboard. My stringers and floor were fine, did an infill and now have the bracket and new Honda hung, but not tested yet. Interior work now ready to restart after a winter off.

What to use to repair stringers

I rebuilt a 1981 Glasply. That company had discontinued wood stringers and went to solid fiberglass stringers. There is a life span for wood stringers. They will fail in time.

    Is this a fair price?

At a 33% premium to high blue book value it is a good price if you can get it. You would be buying at more than you could resell it, but if you can find a willing buyer maybe it is worth it.

Lower unit removal '85 Johnson 115

It bangs and it is instant and feels like I hit a chunk of wood on the motor. Sudden and you can feel it. Goes back in gear, no noticeable slow down as it is so quick.

    Glasply rehab

I am about 7 months into a rehab on a 17' Glasply, a popular NW boat from years gone by. They did a promotion at one point, dropping an18 footer I think from a helicopter to highlight the strength of their hulls. Mine had a Volvo inboard and wanted to add a bracket to give more dance floor for...

Lower unit removal '85 Johnson 115

I am about to try and drop the lower unit on my Johnson 115. It is jumping out of gear when in forward at low speed and on plane. It seems to be getting worse and time to check on damage, maybe replace gears and water pump at the same time. Never done it before. I did get some advice on a...

    Glasply rehab

I rehabbed a fiberglass boat a year ago and wanted to do another on a better hull. Got a '81 18' inboard Glasply with a great hull. Gutted it, removed the Volvo and outdrive and will be adding an offshore bracket and a almost new Honda 115 HP LS. I have an aluminum 20' and I really like the...
