Decarbonizing by spraying water mist into the intakes while running?

This has become fairly popular with 4 strokes and it works to steam clean the cylinders. I'm curious if it'd be a bad idea on a 2 cycle since on a 2 stroke you have the intake fuel mix as the lube. Obviously water is not what we're after for lube. The water mist is quickly turned to steam and...

LU drive shaft Seal Order (fell out when I pulled the LU) SEE PICTURE

The seal and bushing fell out when I yanked this LU and I couldn't tell how it was supposed to go. Is this right? This is a 125HP from 1989 by the way.

LU out for new impeller. Need any other seals?

Curious if I should change any other seals while in there? It doesn't seem that any leak and there's no water in the LU oil. I hate to admit it but I took out the shift pivot pin and it leaked at that seal but seems to have sealed itself.

Used Force 125. Spitting water from pee holes. Still change impeller?

I just got an 89 Force 125 and brought it back from 10-15 years without service. The impeller is a question mark but it's spitting water from the pee holes when hooked to the hose/ear muffs. It's not spraying a stream but it is spitting some out and a lot out of the exhaust hole at the lower...

Bass Boat Drain Plug fitting doesn't seal the inside face of transom. Normal?

I notice that the transom wood is wet and that there's no flange to seal the inside of the drain plug fitting. It's a simple bronze flange screwed to the outside of the transom and accepts a 1/2" NPT plug. I'm not comfortable with the transom inside not sealing. But I think it's stock. Is this ok?

Intake for Livewell BELOW water line. Would like a plug fitting. Does it exist?

I just picked up an 89 bass boat and the fittings (hose barb fittings) to the pumps for the livewell are below the water line. Obviously if I replace these with more plastic barb fittings and these or the hoses break, I'll be in trouble. Where can I find a plug type fitting that will eliminate...

Bilge output fittings on rear of boat. What to use?

Mine are broken where they pass through the transom and I need some new fittings. Any idea where to get this style of water sealing pass through pipe fitting?

1989 Force Coil not giving a reliable spark. Anything else it could be besides coil?

I found a nice project boat and am getting it running. It hadn't been started in about 6-7 years. I checked compression and all 4 cyls have around 135 psi. I pulled the plug out of each cylinder pushed the ground side against the chassis, and watched as someone cranked and all but the 3rd from...

Took out the LU shift pivot pin (Accident!!) and now I have a fluid leak. Any ideas?

I realize that I could have had a bigger problem on my hand, somehow the lever didn't fall off into the lower unit! Don't know I dodged that bullet! Maybe cold thick oil... who knows! But I am still in trouble. The screw leaks fluid. I'm upset with Force and any other Outboard Motor Company...

Can a cable or linkage out of adjustment Jam or damage the shift/throttle control?

I have a Force 125 with a US Marine shift/throttle control. When I bought the boat last week the control box was broken. I welded new guides on to keep the throttle control portion on it's travel plane. As soon as I hooked it all back up, I tested it with the cables unhooked at the motor and all...

Bought a Force with the prop off. Any hardware that goes on before or after the prop?

I don't know these things well enough to know and since I didn't remove the prop, I'm not sure if there are any bushings that go on before or after. I know there's a washer, castle nut and cotter pin after but anything else? thanks for any tips! This is a 1989 Force 125.

Bass boat with rotted floors. Can I yank the livewells and increase the seating cap?

I just picked up a bass boat that will need ALL new wood floors. There was no foam in this particular model (1989 Quantum 18.5 footer with a 125 Force outboard). I have a big family (all boys) and would like to have a couple more seats in the hull instead of the big flat floor space. The hull...

1989 Force 125 Hasn't Been Run in 6 Years. Anything I should do before cranking?

I just picked up a vintage Force 125 outboard that hasn't been run in 6-7 years. Is there anything I should do before I crank it? I know in 4 strokes (car engines), it's a good idea to lube the cylinders before cranking. In a 2 stroke is there anything that should be done before I crank to...
