    Resistance was almost identical. I noticed on my owners manual it refers to the ignition as C.D ignition . I didnt know evinrude used C.D.I since 1965

    No the evinrude is running on points. I noticed even the right part number is also CDI electronic but for 1969 and some early 70s. Thanks, i will check the resistance on the coils.

    I have had this outboard for 2 years.... question do they have any type of tilt assist... the outboard is really heavy i gotta put alot of power to pull it out the water when going into shallows or pulling out the boat. I know theres no power tilt for this year but is there any type of tilt assist?

    I see i didnt notice that its not a tcw-3 oil thanks for clarifying i haven't ran it yet or even open the gallon so i can return it. And get XD50.... how do i adjust the idle on the 1969 Is what you just mentioned in the air silencer ?
