    How to test VRO system

    If there are wires coming from the VRO it has an alarm.------A factory manual has a test procedure.----I would not trust a1985 version of VRO.

    He speaks of a 24' boat likely draws 2 to 3 feet.------Just need to be careful or perhaps a pontoon boat.-----Fishing is always good.----The catching not so much in these crowded waters.

    If you can afford a 24' boat you can afford the latest in electronics.----Get a GPS / moving map unit.-----Tells you exactly where your boat is and where the rocks are.-----And more important where there ARE NO ROCKS.-----Looked at the chart and I would think GPS is a MUST have item.

    Once a motor starts , the manual pump ( bubble ) is not hard.----And it does not need to be !

    Choke / primer valve is manually operated.----No automatic choke.----If motor takes long to warm up then , check thermostats.

    Guessing does get expensive.----These parts can be tested.----You should not be running the engine with battery disconnected.----Might as well test stator windings for battery charging and replace rectifier / regulator.----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" pm all leads?----Be a good idea to post...

    Fuel pump Gale 12S13B

    There are numerous fuel pumps that can be fitted to this motor.----In my opinion almost every shop would have some around in a bin.-----Any smaller ( up to 25 HP ) Johnson / Evinrude from about 1965 to 2005 uses the same style of pump.----I say it a lot, very easy to adapt something.

    I would think there is a severe corrosion issue in the exhaust housing.----Where water flow splits to go to either side.----May have a look at some housings later today to see if that is possible.-----And a co-incidence it was noticed after shop worked on it.
