Just a reminder that summer will be here soon...

My dad did that with Mom's Chevelle. Got towed out by a farmer on his tractor. Once thawed out in the local mechanic's garage, ran flawlessly till he sold it.

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

What they're saying is.... Home Depot for all you lumber cost, for example, $500. That's the total cost of your project. Regardless if you... Had to use a tank and a half to get back and forth several times. Had a $500 Harbor Freight bill for tools and other incidentals. So even though your...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

It'll flex a little. I only mentioned it as it appeared to droop more once the side supports were removed. Might be camera angle but something if it were me I'd be looking at.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Only a suggestion, can take it or leave it.... It appears that your bow is bowing down from the weight of the windshield/steering wheel. Any way to temporarily clamp some support underneath it to help get it back to shape? Would think a 1x4 or 2x4 would be sufficient.

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

On the subject of old gas....got a burn pile? Can start a fire and dispose of it that way. I've been known to use expired signal flares to do the same to save from stockpiling them in my basement. Plenty of ways to get rid of it - from proper disposal to starting bonfires. **Passes a bag of...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

They (meaning almost any sporting goods store) used to sell glorified 5 gallon buckets complete with a seat and other amenities. Probably still around for the hunters to utilize.

    Console and bimini install

I'd remove the teak, then talk with a welder to add brackets you could bolt the console to. IF it were me, I'd use long angle brackets welded to the "hull" the length of the console to help distribute the load from the console & top. I don't like the idea of drilling through the "hull" as I see...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Peeing off the back of a boat isn't an option? Then again I have boys :) My cousin kept a bucket on his fishing boat for his two girls to use when they needed a potty break.

Bought a Used Boat, but what is it?

My first boat I bought, '99 Bayliner came with a 120 HP Force (By Mercury) 2 stroke. What a royal, royal pita to get to start or run correctly. Went through the correct break in process and subsequent adjustments from the marina. Never, ever would start right. Replaced it with a Honda one year...

    OK I’ve had enough.

Couple blasts of snow but mostly been without this year. Paid $$$ to have the snowblower tuned up...think I've used it 3x total. Last dump I just said the heck with it as the next day was forecast to be in the upper 40's melting everything that fell the day before. Put new tires on the truck...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Me...I'd keep the bow seating but make a filler section that could hold a pedestal seat when needed. Secure it in some way/shape/form - perhaps pins or latches? While mine is a Fish & Ski model, I have yet to convert it to fishing mode. That's since I bought it new. For the rear, I'd try to...

Bought a Used Boat, but what is it?

It says Riviera on the dash. Whether that or the logo is original to the boat is anyone's guess. It's old - 60's-70's, probably had a few owners, and could/most likely was modified at some point during its life. Given this is pre-internet, possibly low production, you may or may not find...

    Solas Amita vs OEM (Yamaha)?

Can't offer any advice on the prop. I'm of the mindset of...if the performance was acceptable with the OEM and the cost isn't that much different, I'd stay OEM. Here's why....you'll be at idle or just above for your granddaughter. Anything above that, unless she's a real rare person, is going...

To build or restore help me please

That's a complete rebuild as the transom is most likely/definitely toast. And it's going to get expensive as that's an antique motor with no remote controls/gauges. I see its missing the rubrail as well as I bet a walk through windshield, bow and stern lights to name a few. Going off current...

    Information on Tomahawk boat

With the snow in it...good chance its got some issues. Betting minimal floor, if any. May just be ply laid down loose. The MFG in my sig had wood blocks glued/adhered to the hull that had bolts stuck in them. Those bolts were used with corresponding "T-nuts" in brass, that held the plywood...

    leaking riveted starcraft ('82 MR180)

I'd go with something like packing tape or duct tape. Any residue you can get off with Goof Off or Goo Gone. Pretty sure both are available at Homely Despots.
