    Spring replacement?

Interesting. No specs on any of the springs listed though. I'm tempted to pull the trigger on these: https://www.southwestwheel.com/p-16434-lippert-replacement-double-eye-trailer-leaf-spring-24-2000-lb-weight-capacity-125799.aspx This is the closest that I've seen, I don't see why they wouldn't...

I want to order online so that I can have it by next weekend, not able to find much though.

    Spring replacement?

Noticed that the springs on my trailer completely disintegrated, so I guess it's time to replace them. I don't know any of the specs for the trailer. The axle is 2" square, and it's 24" eye to eye with 9/16" bolts. Looked like there were 6 leafs, which seems like a lot. The boat is 19', ~2k...

    CRACK IN KEEL

Having spent another day today doing this exact thing with the same consequences, I can second that this absolutely sucks. If my boat flips, it isn't on purpose.

    Birds in the boat . . .

I've had a very persistent wren trying to build a nest on my platform (like I mentioned earlier that they like to do). I keep clearing it off before she finishes...

Prep before recoat/tips to keep from repeat mistake

I like the idea of plastic +tape. I could tape one side, get the glass up there, tighten the plastic and then manipulate it through the plastic. I might cut the 46"strip into 2. Only a couple of inches for the hole, the rest is just keel protection. Also interesting about wetting out. I used a...

    NLA Mercury shift shaft retainer

I'm having a hard time finding it in a parts diagram. Looks like it's for a 25 HP merc?

    Starter issue

A new head doesn't cost much, a junkyard head is almost free. Timewise you're on the water the next day if no block damage

Mercruiser 470 timing - service manual?

    Timing procedure is the same.

    Stupid me, no oil

Lousy day yesterday. Screwed up my keel repair, only got one layer on before running short on resin and remembering how nasty poly is. Tyvek suit and more resin coming friday. Got the wiring tidied up, but was sent the wrong OP switch, so made a jumper wire to carry on board. Fuel line...

Prep before recoat/tips to keep from repeat mistake

Trying to repair a gash in my keel. Plan was 3 layers of 7" wide biax outside, and a layer inside (ski locker) if I felt inspired. Nothing structural on the inside. I had reinforced the keel years ago, but storm pounded it pretty good on a jetty. So ground/sanded the old repair. I didn't get...

Engine hour meter clicks with ignition on, but engine not running

Or induction coil over a plug wire. Then it's actually running. Or at least cranking.

Mercruiser 470 timing - service manual?

There was a TSB that revised the timing to 4'. I don't have it handy ATM.

    outdrive stuck

If the gimbal is frozen to the shaft probably not a bad idea to do the ujoints anyway. I really need to buy a press. I just got a drill press, and it's like magic. I'm so damn short on storage space though...

Engine hour meter clicks with ignition on, but engine not running

No PCM on that engine. I dream of a day where concern about when the hour meter (if I had one) runs makes it into my top 10 of "things that need attention" on my boat! :)

Mercruiser 470 timing - service manual?

Yes, revised timing specs are 4'. Not much to the procedure. Still have points? You'll need to set dwell, timing, idle speed, since they're interrelated...

    outdrive stuck

Be much easier with that yoke removed. I'd probably try supporting the aft end of the bearing vertically in a vice and hammering the yoke from above with a 2x4 on top. Not sure how that would treat the splines though.
