Impeller Job - Mating Surface Corrosion

Impeller Job - Mating Surface Corrosion

No gasket there, doesn't make much difference. I'd sand it just to prevent further corrosion

Low Voltage to the Ignition Switch

Yes, all of these are symptoms are low ignition circuit voltage, which it looks like is coming from (at least) the back side of that fuse. Again, once the slave solenoid is activated, the ignition circuit is taken out of the equation for the starter. Your symptoms at the fuse are probably from...

Low Voltage to the Ignition Switch

However 100% of the juice to the starter comes directly from the battery before hitting that fuse. You're bypassing the ignition circuit but any back feed would still need to pass through the fuse. As long as you have enough volts in the ignition circuit to activate the slave (and then enough...

Low Voltage to the Ignition Switch

Did you clean those connections at the fuse? Still not seeing how a jumper to the ignition switch would fix a slow crank condition. Did you try jumping at the starter?

Will a 3.0 run on 1 spark plug???

I mean, if you were running on one cylinder sounds like you answered your own question?

Relocating oil filter on a Mercruiser 5.7?

So I ran into this issue when I put my auto block in. The auto block had a block bypass on the filter mount, marine iirc did not. I ended up installing this remote kit and deleting the block bypass. Figured the kit was using a different filter with a built in bypass. @Scott Danforth , I assume...

Low Voltage to the Ignition Switch

Fwiw I've had a bad fuse that tested fine statically that wasn't passing enough current under load. But still least likely. Only a few connections to fail. Most likely are ignition switch, fuses, cannon plug, gauges, and dead man switch. Probably a combination though. If everything if perfect...

    Resistor wire

I meant verify that you have the proper coil for your kit. Some call for a resistor wire and some don't. I think all of the modules need a full 12v. If you need 12v you need to run a wire from the choke. If the coil is internal resistor your then it also needs 12 volts. Otherwise, you keep the...

    Resistor wire

Yes. As Mentioned, verify your ignition kit and coil, and that 12v is supposed to supply the coil

Simple winterization process / draining 4.3gl

That's listed as a freeze plug drain on lt engines from what I'm seeing. Definitely isn't the standard drain. Port and starboard are the same size, ¼" npt I think. If it's somehow a threaded core plug you're probably fine. Maybe post a pic of where it came from.

Simple winterization process / draining 4.3gl

I haven't heard of this; that drain isn't big enough for a 17mm anything

Simple winterization process / draining 4.3gl

Don't know if I missed something, but the pic is of your intake manifold drain, not the block drain. Hopefully you got the block drain

    Winterizing 4.3 VP Gxi

My friend keeps on trying to crack her block and sell me a great boat (2014? Chaparral 21 footish) for cheap, and I keep trying to prevent it I guess. It really would be the perfect upgrade for me (esp if i dropped a 383 in there, but I digress). So it's still on the lift and we've got a stretch...

Simple winterization process / draining 4.3gl

I still don't think that one is going to break anything. Lots of room in there, and I took it off maybe 5 times with 0 water drainage.

Can I use this Y pipe

When I did my 4.3 swap the y-pipe didn't mate correctly to the transom plate, 1 hole missing. The vee engines apparently used a different plate. I don't remember the specifics (I think I posted about it during my swap thread somewhere). Someone else had used the pipe and transom plate without...

Winterizing a Merc A1-G1 Block Question Antifreeze

I mean you're always looking for corrosion inhibition right? Nothing better than running it the next season with a thin coat of oil going through the cooling passages.

    Automotive Diagnostic Tool

If you want to play around with an incredibly powerful scan program for bmw/mini, check out deep obd to use with a bt dongle. Unfortunately it's very un user friendly. And it's kinda in German. BUT it's free and has all the bmw specific codes (that parts not hard to figure out).
