That unit uses a special cut on gears that pushes driveshaft up into bearing as its upside down. Pull up while turning and should get smooth. Also the factory gasket has a orange bead of sealer on it
Those engines run a LOT of heat under the cowl thus this style fuel system. Either the VS cover is warped, gasket leaking or diaphragm damaged in vapor pump
You need the kit with round ferrite. remove rubber cover, remove coil existing ferrite and replace with round one in kit and reuse old grounding strap
