    Starting problems.

ok, with what I can see on your valve cover, you have a 330 engine. Using a bit of guesswork that yours is about a 1982 vintage, Mercury service manual #3 has a serial number range from 4889680-6083144. if yours falls inside this range, here is the tune up page from the manuals. If yours is...

    Starting problems.

ok, easy there.... your engine serial number like mine is on a sticker attached to the valve cover. I can see the red sticker on the right side cover that has your serial number on it.

    Starting problems.

no. those are from the engine manufacturer, and we need the Mercrusier numbers to pin down the exact model, and therefore the exact specs needed to get you back and running. Those heads and block would be found in everything from a Chevy or GMC pickup to your boat. In this case, they really...

    Starting problems.

well, by "hid", the only one of my serial numbers that is in the "stock" location is the one on the outer transom/gimbal assy..... My engine and transom plate numbers are on a sticker on the valve cover, and if they stamped a number into my outdrive, I still havent found it....... so there IS...

both of those are casting numbers. as Dubs said, there "should" be a tag on the block near the starter.

    Starting problems.

you will need the serial number off of the engine itself. There is a sticky up the top with links to find out where Mercury hid it on your engine.

    Starting problems.

the specifications should have been in the instructions with the carb kit. Otherwise you will need the manual for your engine. Good starting point is 1 1/4 to 11/2 turns out. if they are screwed in hard, there is no fuel flow through the idle circuits, and no starting.....

    Starting problems.

to start with, what are the idle screws (the two needle valves in the base of the carburetor) set at? Do you get any fuel squirting into the primary throats when operating the throttle? Did you properly set the float level?

    470 Timing

sounds like a leakdown test is in order to see where the issues are. With any luck running lean didnt cause any major issues

1998 Larson SEI 186 tilt motor isn't working

well, that glass fuse is missing one end, its toast. if you cant get the remains out, you may need to splice in a new fuse holder. Until you do this, you are pretty much dead in the water

    Volvo penta inboard tilt trim

yeah, you melted that relay...... Time to break out the wiring diagrams and see where the motor gets its power from. You "SHOULD" be able to directly wire to the motor for testing purposes ONLY, however with the amperage that it took to melt that relay, the motor may already be pooched.

    1995 7.4 Thunderbolt starting

Put one on an old El Camino I had when I was younger. Never had issues with it, unlike the Q-Jet it replaced..... But, like any mass produced piece, there are good and bad ones. I WILL say, they are much easier to change jets and metering rods on than the alternatives!!!

    Clanking/rattling sound after prop change

then I would say its a little early to get a really good plug read on them to determine lean. I dont see it in the pics, but are there any shiny metallic looking specs on the plugs? this is also a sign of detonation/preignition. You may still be running lean, but at this point I would call the...

    Clanking/rattling sound after prop change

from what I see, either those plugs have nearly no run time on them, or you are running lean. Center electrode porcelain should be more of a tannish color than the bright white you have there.

    Anyone Seen these?

Bingo. these are the folks that SEEK OUT technologies that will save them money. Seems to me there is a vacuum of testimonials from these sorts of folks that this prop is the next best thing since sliced bread. If it truly was as good as they say at saving money for operators, they would be all...

Mercruiser 350 mag mpi losing fuel after 30 seconds

there should not be any air movement when the cap is removed. If you are getting an air inflow, the vent is plugged, and your tank is running into a vacuum situation cutting off fuel flow. Once you screwed the cap back down, it resealed the tank, and the situation could repeat.

Mercruiser 350 mag mpi losing fuel after 30 seconds

check your tank vent...... loosen the fuel cap a bit and make a run (carefully), see if anything changes.
