    Battery charger size needed

Why do you guys use a charger? The engine charges the batteries and they should hold a charge over the winter, shouldn't they? If they go too low just boost it to start the engine and let it run to recharge them?

    Battery charger size needed

I thought deep cycle batteries were made to be able to withstand having a low charge without harm?

    The fall

Man, that had to hurt! I fell over a month ago and broke an ankle and dislocated 3 toes on the other foot. Getting better but the older you get the longer it takes. Hang in there, you'll be hopping around again before you know it, just a little more carefully!

Question about control cable and water separator for carbureted engine

I would put a reducer before that tee if you cant find a tee with the proper size barbs. The hose and tee should be the same size, otherwise thats a risk of fuel leakage and sucking air into the lines. Not sure if the larger diameter hose is needed to properly feed the two other hoses though...

    Cod season open today!

If you ever do, you need to do a bit of planning. NL is a big place and you can't do it all from one area. Also the weather in May, June and early July is pretty terrible.

How would you seal these screw holes?

If those are threaded bolts and not actually screws, and you are really paranoid about it....you could make thin rubber washers out of a rubber boot patch or something and tighten them down. Then seal over the top, buts likely overkill.

    What's the proper starting procedure?

Since you say you are new to all this, if you are starting her on a trailer, don't forget to have a water source for the cooling system, either muffs on a hose or a large tub of water that the motor is lowered in. Don't start it dry or you will ruin your impeller!

    Thru hull leak

Not to mention that you will know there is rot below and that it is spreading, getting worse, and making you doubt the integrity of your boat. If it was me, that would definitely take away from the enjoyment of using the boat.

60hp 4 stroke shuts down above 3000 rpm

Sounds like you may have finally found your problem! Sucks that you had to spend money on unnecessary replacement parts. After all that work, I'd probably put a new check valve back where the original was, I don't imagine they are that expensive. Then at least everything would be back the way it...

    99 Monterey 276 Transom Replacement

Take lots of pictures for your own use as well as you take everything apart, esp. wiring, so you will know how it all goes back together down the road.

    Thru hull leak

Yeah, there's no easy fix. You gotta go at it from the inside and remove all the rot. Sucks, thems the facts!

Question about control cable and water separator for carbureted engine

I would definitely think you need a water separator.

    Thru hull leak

Fan isn't going to work. You need to get in there and find and replace all the rot/wet wood. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst! Check your transom as well.

    To low idle speed

You need to take it to a dealer,IMO. You are assuming the ECU is damaged, but it could be something unrelated. You need to verify the problem before trying to replace things that may not need replacing. As said above that can get expensive real quick and leave you still with the original problem.
