A few questions from a learner

Runing any motor around the min lugging side of the wot rpm range is like going up hill from a dead stop on third gear, too much stress on piston's rods that could break and pass thru the block. The issue is that's very difficult to prop spot on any given combo as the wot rpm reacts upon load...

    Need help Frankenstein

Why would you like to swap lower legs for ? If both are Sea Pro, Marathon models with same CC powerheads should be possible to swap lower units. As you already count with both, remove both lower legs and check if are 100% physically compatible... Happy Boating

New Tohatsu 3.5 HP (MFS3.5C) Won't start after it's warmed up.

2-4 stroke motors with built in tanks which are Non EPA ones should be run with their air vent screw fully opened, not partially opened and should not loosen the tank's cap for that purpose. Happy Boating

New Tohatsu 3.5 HP (MFS3.5C) Won't start after it's warmed up.

I'm wondering if you have one of those new tanks that don't vent until some higher pressure is achieved. Then why did you mentioned those type of tanks in post 14 when you didn't know if the OP's motor had an internal fuel tank or not. Was just the tech explanation of those EPA tanks which most...

How to get boat launched daily when Travel Trailer camping?

That's a US local price or needs to be imported from Canada ? Solo handling is a tough procedure, if most of the time no one will be available to lend you a hand would be a vise investment. Need at least 2 to handle a small and wide inflatable which isn't a canoe. Is the idea to assemble it at...

Zodiac Tube Valve Z67080, Pumps, Pressure Gauges, and Removal Tool

It's the same as the Bravo 4 foot pump with a different name, if pumping air while at the continuous down/up stroke tires you there should be a plug somewhere that once removed will only let you pump air just on the down stroke, is the Scoprega 110 same ? Happy Boating

1998 Evinrude 35hp water temp issues!

You're Welcome, To troubleshoot the Temp Sensor generally needs to be Ohm tested cold and warm while being slow heated in hydraulic oil, will need the factory tech specs to test if doing its homework right or not. It's the same procedure as when troubleshooting t-stats, the only difference is...

Does the Ownwer's Manual states that such motor needs to be flushed with muffs while motor is OFF ? If so the thermo wil never open and the cylinder head area won't never be flushed cleaned.. New Tohatsu 3.5 HP (MFS3.5C) Won't start after it's warmed up.

New Epa fuel tanks will vent when a certain PSI is achieved inside the tank, should not flood the motor with fuel as there's a Fuel Demand Valve located right in middle of the fuel connector and bulb that prevents that condition to happen. Anyway chek if operating the motor with the tank's...

    Alumacraft V14 with 9.9hp

Sorry for the rush, what posted being 333CC were the EFI 9.9-15-20 HP motors, not the 9.9 carbed 4 strokes one you own. If possible go for the 20 HP motors whether being carbed or EFI ones along an alum long shaft transom boat. Can always prop right the motor whichever brand you go for...

    Alumacraft V14 with 9.9hp

You're Welcome Matcraft, A typo error sated being all 3 motors 33CC but in reality all 3 are 333CC ones, not an issue passing a 9.9 to a 20 HP one. BTW all Merc models are rebadged Tohatsu ones with slight differences. Paul being a Tohatsu guy will surely direct you regarding which parts will...

    Alumacraft V14 with 9.9hp

You have 2 nice options : (1) Pass that 9.9 to-a 15 or-20 HP one, all 3 shares the same 33CC powerhead, a matter to check which parts are needed for such conversions and the cost of each one. No one will know you are running a converted 15 or 20 HP with a 9.9 cowl rated motor. (2) Prop right...

1998 Evinrude 35hp water temp issues!

Which is the exact Model for that 1988 motor. That's a 33 year oldie used in fresh or salt water? If it's not a water pump, t-stat related issue could be a faulty Temp Sensor issue assuming all water passages are clean and cooling the motor right when high throttle is in demand... Happy Boating
