    Planning out installing NMEA 2k

Interesting, for me I have no fuel data on my MFDs, and any data that shows on one will not on the other even if I add an area for it. I've attached a photo of the back of my MFD (both are the same), I see no ports on connecting anything other than NMEA 2k to share the data. My ideal case...

    Planning out installing NMEA 2k

I never even thought of that part of it. I think that alone makes me give up on the idea of active trim. I've never had a good relationship with trim pumps and rather not stress them more than I have to.

    Planning out installing NMEA 2k

The MDF already displays the bar on the side just with half the data missing. It is where I get depth and such. Also currently some data for speed and depth in on one, direction is on the other. I'd love to have it all be able to show anything on either display or the smartcraft guages. The...

    Planning out installing NMEA 2k

Ah interesting. I was hoping to use the Link to have my engine data show up on my Simrad displays and also be able to use active trim. The adjusting exhaust for sound would be a cool trick too but not worth paying extra for. My main goal is the active trim, though, right now I have a bunch of...

    Planning out installing NMEA 2k

The guages are these series https://www.mercruiserparts.com/sc1000-sc100-family-glass-len-black-fa?srsltid=AfmBOopazPy7dPlc-WwfUeqdujqH-Y0TTFlu9qzT3c75PZFkElszXb9V I might be wrong on the NMEA 0183 that was a guess as I knew of nothing else. My primary reason for NMEA 2k was the Mercury...

    Planning out installing NMEA 2k

I have a 2019 Blackfin 212CC which while all the electronics mostly have NMEA 2k on them none of them are connected together. I'm looking to change that in the spring so I am starting a proper planning out of it this winter. Currently in the boat I have a 2x Simrad Go 9 multi-function displays...

Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

That sounds like what I might have done then, I thought it was the sealant. I'm going to do hand tight with nothing on it next year. Hopefully that works out a bit better.

Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

I did not manage to get it out and ended up going the route of having it replaced when the boat got winterized. I fell sick shortly after posting and once better and catching up had some life events happen to take my attention away from the boat. I tried wrench, impact wrench, breaker bar. In...

Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

That is probably the best idea. Sounds so much easier and less risky.

Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

Hmm that seems like it might be easier though a bit less safe than my idea of a heat gun. My original idea was a heat gun and then heat up a metal wire/pin and stick it though the 4200 to make holes and eventually break through it enough I could twist it out.

Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

I'm not sure where I'd even look for that. Assuming I could, how would I use it?

Bone headed move - put the plug in with 3M 4200

This spring I was in a scramble to get the boat ready by the launch date I had to be at the marina so not thinking I grabbed what I had in the garage to keep the plug in and ended up using 3M 4200 to put in the drain plug. I am now trying to figure out how I am going to remove it. Any ideas...

Engine oil kit - first time

I'm glad I posted here. I got down to the boat tonight and I checked it is the 10W30 not the other I had found. Ordered the kit mentioned to me above.

Engine oil kit - first time

This is what my engine looks like. It looks very close to the Verados. Maybe I made a mistake? I can find the serial number tomorrow if needed.

Engine oil kit - first time

I went looking online to see what I could get that is cheaper. I could not find much. At best I could do is save $5 on everything by driving 2 places and ordering 1 thing online.

Engine oil kit - first time

I have a 2019 Mercury 225XL 3.4L V6 that I am prepping to do winterization on. I am trying to find the right stuff to do a winterization and think a kit makes the most sense for the first attempt. I found this kit on Amazon.ca and am trying to ensure it is correct.

Too much wind and rain in my face

He ordered a couple parts that he needed that was not in stock and I guess one of them is out of stock at the warehouse. Estimated date of mod Oct for delivery which is past when I am winterized. Planning for spring.

Too much wind and rain in my face

Ah yeah need much colder than that to freeze salt water. I would love to boat salt water sometimes. The rivers and lakes get very repetitive

Too much wind and rain in my face

You must be a bit further south than I am. Around here most years the river and lakes freeze over by early January
