    Gelcoat

I would say yes you can. If its completely hardened i would rub it down with acetone but not necessarily sand it. I have put on multiple coats this spring on mine, no sanding in between (or acetone), and they are still there! Most people here will tell you to acetone and sand so don't take my...

    Garmin stricker 4 plus issues

You can use a split screen where you can see the return from both freq. Still nothing. Large fish would be about 1 1/2 to 3 ft. I'll probably have to keep playing with it and get use to all the features. The old Humminbird finder I replaced seemed a lot easier to use, I still have it if need be...

    Garmin stricker 4 plus issues

Hi, does anyone use this fish finder? I am new to it and still learning how to use it. I'm having trouble getting it to "see" fish. I can see bait with it and have it set to show fish symbols instead of arches. The problem is it very rarely shows any fish symbols eventhough I know there is fish...

    Editing video

Hi, does anybody know a good app for cutting out parts of videos and just keeping the good parts? I have some videos my wife took with her iphone of whales we had close to our boat. There are a lot of boring parts of just water with some good shots mixed in. I'd like to shorten it by cutting out...

    Wood cost

Prices here have started to go down but they were really high. Plywood is still high. I bought a 4x4 pressure treated post yesterday 8 ft and paid $21 CAD which I didn't think was so bad.

    Marine plywood edging (cabinetry)

I don't think you need marine plywood for cabinetry. Mostly thats used for transoms and stringers. For cabinetry inside a dry cabin I would imagine you use whatever you would use in your kitchen, I may be wrong, more knowledgable folks may have a different opinion!

Yamaha digital guage not indicating trim

Further research tells me that the guage I have only shows the hours that the guage was in use, not the motor. Dumb idea, but what are ya gonna do? I suspect the trim guage is a faulty sender. How would I test this?

Yamaha digital guage not indicating trim

Yeah, I checked that and the arm moves freely and the thing that moves the arm is in place and solid as it should be.

Yamaha digital guage not indicating trim

Yesterday I noticed that the trim indicator started to work while I was on the water and today it doesn't again? Also on that guage the total engine hours is only showing the total since I installed it, not total lifetime hours. Its the 6y5 guage. Shouldn't it be able to get the total hours from...

    Too close for comfort!

I saw quite a few humpbacks today fairly close to my boat. I'll try to get a few pictures tomorrow to post. Are Right Whales bigger then Humpbacks?

Yamaha digital guage not indicating trim

Hi, I have a Yamaha f90 2016. It had a tiller handle when i bought it but I removed that and hooked up remote steering and 703 controls and digital RPM gauge. The guage is working fine except the trim indicator is just showing full up all the time. I checked the small arm and stop under the...

Safe to tow with bow not resting on front roller?

I wasn't sure the locking mechanism would work in reverse but you are right, reverse the strap and the strap would pull straight ahead. Good idea!
