    You can connect an old school dwell meter to neg side of coil. If it shows dwell while engine is cranking, then system is working to the coil..

    Check the exhuast valve components for that cylinder. Lifter, pushrod, rocker arm and even cam lobe. A stuck closed exhaust valve will build excess compression in that hole.

    The main indicator here is the 12VDC to the coil +. That needs to be a constant. If it comes and goes, there is a problem in the wiring harness before the coil.     Who ever put that gasket on should be taken to the wood shed and beaten. Or at least have his / her tools taken away. No paper gaskets on exhaust. No gaskets that cover the exhaust ports on engine. Wrong gasket.
