    Show us your BBQ gun

I only conceal carry. Even though it's legal, I wouldn't open carry. It may be a deterrent in some cases, but why let the bad guys know what you have and where it is located? I'd rather it be my secret. The less they know, the better.

    Retirement in another Country

I retired in Pennsylvania. The state doesn't tax any of my pensions or Social Security. That's a big plus! Pennsylvania is not perfect, but I like the fresh air, State parks, rivers, lakes, firearm freedoms and layed back attitude. There are many other states that are pension friendly, so look...

    Antifreeze circulation through engine

When I'm done with those engine block drain plugs, I put them and my garboard drain plug in a zip lock bag and tape the bag to the steering wheel. I use electrical tape and put the sticky side out so the steering wheel doesn't get all gummed up. You can use whatever you want, a twisty or...

    Battery Switch Bypass Question

From what understand and what you may be thinking.... Don't disconnect any battery cables while the engine is running. That's when you can cause electrical problems.

    1st boat incoming. Dumb question

Not to worry. Your engine will charge the battery while it's running, just like your land vehicles. If you are paranoid, add a second battery and a battery switch. It will give you a choice which battery to use or you can combine the two batteries if needed for additional boost. Only the...

Mercruiser Alpha One Gen II not pumping water

My guide tube was distorted by heat from a previous owner. Someone must have overheated the engine in the past and that tube got melted. It was all burnt and distorted. Another thing you might want to check is the exhaust shutters (flappers). They are in to top portion of the exhaust right...

    Youghiogheny River Lake in Pa.

This is why I only go boating on the weekdays. I boat in Lake Wallenpaupack, northeastern PA. It's 13 miles long and I believe it has 52 miles of shoreline. It's a beautiful lake, but it's absolutely insane on the weekends. It takes the fun out of boating. Too many ignorant and...

    Dry Launch

You can't beat those LED trailer lights. You can unplug incandescents when launching/recieving, but all you have to do is forget once and when those hot incandescent bulbs hit the cool water....pop! I had an LED set on my last trailer. It was great. No more burned out bulbs, popped bulbs...

    Creative Trailer Hitch

I'd like to see that same photo, but replace the Crown Vic with a tricycle. Now that would be a site! Might even tow better!

    Creative Trailer Hitch

I wonder if he has a 5th wheel setup in the trunk? If so, there's no problem, especially if the suspension is bottomed out so it can't go any lower! He could use long bolts through the trunk and through the gas tank to mount it. A little silicone and rubber washers for sealant and he's good to go.

    Supply Air & Blower Hose

Maybe the existing hose is not of the marine variety. Someone might have replaced it in the past with ordinary dryer vent hose.

Rain water came in through cover

I'm adamant about this too. I dont allow uneccessary water into my boat if I can help it. You can't help it if you're out boating and it pours, but you can prevent it when the boat is not being used. Open everything up on a nice sunny day. Covering it while it's all wet inside for long enough...

Hard to start unless starter solenoid is shorted

Heres a long shot: Sometimes cables themselves can go bad with internal corrosion. I had this happen on a truck years ago. One of the battery cables looked a little melted at the battery. I cut it back and there was all green corrosion between the strands. Got a new cable and all was well...

    Bow/Docking lights on a StarCraft?

Around here in Pennsylvania, I believe it is illegal to run docking lights while underway.

Ran out or gas, and Gas can

Dont get me started... Same ole' idiocy by dumb bureaucrats that we see all the time promising to "save the planet" and in reality either don't know what they are talking about or more than likely are lining their pockets with mandates like this. "Hey, my brother-in-law needs a new lear jet and...

1973 Sea Ray 190 Fuel Tank Location

Oh, ok, I'm seeing a different picture now....the fuel tank is missing, it was removed by the previous owner, right? Or no?

How to fasten clear vinyl sheets to plastic lattice?

Oh well, I used what I had. Stainless would have been good. We'll see how it weathers. Thanks for the staple idea. I really didn't think they were going to penetrate the plastic. Then my wife suggested the same thing. I said to myself, I gotta listen to these people!
