Good news! (and no $$ spent.)

    1961 Johnson 10hp - QD-22 - Fuel Pump Issue?

^^point is good. Get a fresh pump for backup. Btw, water in your test tank should be comfortably above the water pump.

    1971 18 Evinrude Fastwin

Water well above the intake for back pressure and cooling. Adjust the carb once the water level is correct (I test run them with water about half way between the AV plate above the prop, and the exhaust opening on the back of the leg.) It currently is idling too fast, imo. Throttle it down...

    1961 Johnson 10hp - QD-22 - Fuel Pump Issue?

Fuel pump diaphragm. They get dry/stiff and take on a set -- new ones are flexible. Replacement pump is the small square one 0388685, I believe. Big believer in oem parts, but the cheap foreign pumps on the market seem to work fine at maybe 1/4 price or less.

    Thermostat impellor question

6 or 8 inches above intake. Motor may be running cold.

    '94 60 HP Intermittent Spark

Temp is probably good (160F is too hot to touch, at least for very long). You might check continuity of the coil to plug wire for the lower cylinder. Metal spring connector to metal spring connector. Should be full continuity.

    '94 60 HP Intermittent Spark

^^Good advice. Also might check the operating temp on your motor (may be running hot -- around 160F.)

    NOS ignition parts

Get the number off the power pack (the NOS one), and see if you can identify it by year. I don't shy away from old stock parts, but you have to know what you are looking for. But it sounds like this is moot anyway, as you are up and running.

    Carburetor

Guess you could try switching for a 15 carb. If happy with the switch, call the operation successful.

    Skeg Repair

Skeg on your motor is part of the lower half of the gearcase. Drain the gearcase and remove the lower unit. Invert the lower unit in a vise, and remove the lower part (half with the skeg). Will need to remove the phillips head screw to fully remove. Clean it up with solvent, and examine...

    Thermostat impellor question

Water has to be well above the pump. I run mine with water about half way up the leg. If it's running cold, I would not test run it -- will not operate properly, so will not be a good test. If you want the motor, make an offer based on current condition. Use of muffs is definitely not a...

    1986 Johnson 40hp - Stalling at idle

Carbs should be pretty easy rebuilds. Buy a couple of oem kits with floats. Disassemble and soak tops and bottoms in solvent, then clean and flush each orifice (all small openings). Be sure to remove domed covers on top to open idle passages (replacement caps in kits). I leave the brass jets...

1956 15hp Johnson electric start question

If you can locate a flywheel, mount and starter to fit, I think you will be OK. (There is not charging system.) Think in terms of a starter button at the stern. Get an outboard solenoid, not an automotive one. Look first for a donor sister motor with electric. Try AOMCI ads.

1999 Johnson 25 carb help req.

For what it's worth, I couldn't find a flat-top styled carb for you model (think I looked through most of the '99 25hp carbs -- could have been a late change, I suppose, but I didn't see it.) But I don't own that one. Maybe another lister does.
