    yes that is what I have but the bolts you have in the kit don't fit the FW holes on top . Buy what you need (3) at the HW store with 3 nylon lock-nuts and some flat washers to keep the bolt heads from slipping thru the trianle opennings . Bend the flat washer 90 deg. on one side to fit...

    Darn....you just spoiled my day... I just installed a 43$ head gasket on a EV 6hp I just refurbished dealer was asking 73$ CDN plus 15% taxes (O.M.G. !) Amazon was cheaper yet I just found one on EBAY !!! for 15$ free shipping from China & No tarifs :)

    well the main reason is that they wont "screw in" to the standard but newer screw pin coil vs the old HV PIN magneto coils used on the oldies since te early 50s... easy underneath routing may also be a problem

    The above illustrated puller with inverted nylon nuts is probably the cheapest you will find. No.... it is not OEM stuff $$$ but works fine on small OBs . The inverted nuts will keep the depth of bolt insertion in the FW even and keep the bolts in place so you don't go loosing any.

    Have you done some bucket testing (with a new impeller) ? save a few trips till it at least idles in a bucket (water above the impeller body) have you refurbed the ignition per manual and adjusted timing ? . If you do not have the pointy tool the VOM method is just as good. the purpose...

    virtue is nothing to argue about yet venturing into the innards of the abandoned may be adventurous at best for the non-initiated. Faced with the possibilities of a mishap a small kicker is always a good option .

    Posssibly but the beast was dormant for nearly half it's life and may have less than 500 hrs. If the owner TLC'd before storage (oiled) it may need little work to wake it up. A teardown is likely beyond most. I have never been so unlucky as to do open heart surgery .

    print the manual locally double sided and spring bind with plastic cover sheets. enough for 2 binders :) Be warned you have been infected with the oldies virus. Nobody dies but divorce frequently happens around the 30th engine in the shed. :) Keep some change for fuel these engines love...

    Well before you...dig in to it the usual is needed . Check for sparks but in any event pull the FW and inspect ignition components... Coils are likely all cracked up and need replacement as well as condensers and plug wires. See typical cracked coils on a 3hp Wires break in bends also so...

    I doubt using special ETEC oil would hurt anything. and it has special emulsifiers to protect from water intrusion those FICHT gear cases were likely used in ETECs

    hold the up or down switch in ON position and start poking wiggling wires till you get a reaction. if the cowl switch works current is passing the trim limit switch used only for UP limiting.. since both up and down don't work up from up front check all wiring especially in bends. B+...
