    Hub weight rating

No rating on hubs per se. The bearings determine the load. Same bearing size, same load FWIW…..the seal in the tractor supply kit isn’t the best. Consider getting a higher quality seal for marine use.

Diehard saltwater fisherman. My first boat was an cuddy I/O... I was told not to do it, but monetary considerations, along with a lack of patients, trumped everything else at the time. Ran the daylights out of the boat for 3 years, but the maintenance and winterization left a sour taste in my...

    Cable guard

Glad nobody was hurt….my first and only accident (age 17) was a tangle with a cable guard as well. While I currently own one, I’m not a fan of pickups in adverse conditions. The best vehicle I’ve owned for adverse conditions was a 2002 4WD Tahoe.

    Older 4-stroke or newer 2-stroke?

Agree.....but some have better luck than others

    Older 4-stroke or newer 2-stroke?

Hard to beat a Honda for reliability….done with 2 strokes You didn’t say how many hours are on each motor. Would take an older motor over one that is worn out or neglected Buddy is a saltwater fishing guide. Puts 4,000-5,000 hours on a BF250 in before swapping out.
