    Razor blade type scraper.-----Exacto knife.----Carbide scraper.-----Homemade gasket scraper ( power hack saw blade ) is what I use.----Can't imagine it would take more than 10 minutes for me.

    Fuel from the electric primer valve goes directly into the motor.-----This fuel bypasses the metering circuits in the carburetors.----I would do the simple job of cleaning the carburetors.

    Remove sparkplugs.----Put 6 drops of fuel in each hole.------Install plugs.----Try to start motor.----Report exactly what happens.

    I Got Me a Mercury !!!

    About the only thing that can go wrong is the fuel pump diaphragm.----I have about 6 diaphragms on hand to repair that simple little pump.-----I would never buy a new big $$ pump.-----And no I would not use an " amazon special " on these wonderful motors.

    Some will argue.----I believe motor is mounted too high.
