    21' Holiday Rebuild

I've got at least a few 15 or 20A circuits in mine I think. Air Horn Stereo Feeds to secondary fuse panels at bow and under passenger console.

    1978 22' V5 Super Sport CC

Maybe a sweet 235 will pop up? Never know. The vents look like the original ones starcraft used...I'm missing one on my sterndrive V5 that I'll probably just replace with something close unless I can find a match. Maybe yours was an outboard conversion from IO? Does the model nameplate say...

    21' Holiday Rebuild

Mine looked clean and night right up until I had like 20 circuits going. It still looks mostly near and labeled, but certainly a bit busy.

    1978 22' V5 Super Sport CC

It should be rated up to 240...no need to stop at 150! Interesting clamshell vent placements

    1978 22' V5 Super Sport CC

Nice base to work from! Is it a factory CC (mariner) or modified supersport (dual console)? You'll want more motor anyway, but the big V5 hulls are great.

Opinions on seating arrangement on my newly restored 1976 16’ SS

I'll be the contrarian who says that taller people should have taller posts so that they can sit comfortably with good balance and control, not shorter posts. I have 4 hydraulic power pedestals with 238 bases. Make sure you use appropriate bases/pedestals/seats for the helm and for any seats...

1973 starcraft ss restore in progress

I wentwith a relatively thin (1/2 in) layer of foam on my boat which may impact the results. Also the curve may be less extreme on a 22 footer V5 than a 16 footer. I did not encounter any wrinkling issues. I could see a possible difference if I was going for a big plush cushion rather than a...

1973 starcraft ss restore in progress

I just used 1/4 in exterior ply and it fastened in place fine. Did not need to do anything special with forming.

    Repower with modern 4 stroke?

Exactly. HP capacity is primarily a hull geometry calculation (although a manufacturer can rate it lower if there is reason to). https://newboatbuilders.com/pages/hp.html Also transom thickness of 1.75-2.75 in for 75-245+HP

1978 18ft Mariner: Getting Ready for June 2021 Splash..!!!

Note that there are innumerable ways for this to not end well. Surface prep needs to be immaculate, and you have so much flexing, thermal expansion, etc. going on.

Starcraft 16' Bahama Fiberglass vs. Starcraft 16' Starmist Aluminum

That feels good for 20-40 years depending on quality of work and usage/storage. Simple aluminum boats last forever. Maybe some rivets loosen after decades or something, but even that's not a big deal. Either let a bilge pump deal with it, or rebuck. Any wood is easily accessible to replace...

Starcraft 16' Bahama Fiberglass vs. Starcraft 16' Starmist Aluminum

What do you mean by "fiberglass is less maintenance"? well-made aluminum boats of that era and style are about as simple and easy to keep going as anything.

Islander/Chieftain project ponderings. Building the ultimate big water Starcraft?

Using the code/statute for acceptable power (length * transom width in ft, rounded up to the next multiple of 5)*2-90 (for transom height >=20 in, which would certainly apply) the 26 Islanders would take up to 330ish 22 footers would take 240-270 depending on beam 25 footers would be OK to 310...

Islander/Chieftain project ponderings. Building the ultimate big water Starcraft?

They are a bit wider. It's also fully possible that the cruisers even ride slightly higher at the stern since the weight is up front. It's not like I've checked - just figured it was worth mentioning the weight difference,

Islander/Chieftain project ponderings. Building the ultimate big water Starcraft?

That'll depend. The V5 and "V series" hulls have a steeper deadrise and thus a deeper draft. The classic/lapstrake hulls would be more similar to your 16 footer. If you want big-water performance...the V5 can really cut through waves, especially with added power trim tabs. The shallower...

Islander/Chieftain project ponderings. Building the ultimate big water Starcraft?

Yeah I have a 22ft V5. More or less the same hull as @Watermann but without the top.
