    1974 Starcraft SS16 Restortation

Thanks...I'm in the planning phase for adding a livewell of roughly similar dimensions to my SS.

    New Journey

I'd be kinda paranoid of black vinyl. Flashback to vinyl car seats growing up. Looks like it'll be a fun boat for MN waters.

    1974 Starcraft SS16 Restortation

Great looking hatches. I'm also right at that hatch-building (and laying-out) stage on my SS. How large did you make your livewell?

    1987 Islander

I don't have an Islander, but I do have a 22ft supersport with a v8 mercruiser that was very butt-heavy. Prior to last season I added a bowmount troller and 3x group31 batteries just forward of the helm, as well as hydraulic trim tabs. I can easily slice through wakes that 2 years ago I would...

Garage Find 22 Starcraft Sport Center Console in real nice condition. Your thoughts

The rule (for inboards). For outboards the machinery weight is 0 and your outboard rolls into the total capacity. The 200 pound weight difference that starcraft lists for Islander vs SS clearly doesn't matter. And as long as there's only 1 hole max 3in diameter in the splashwell, rating...

Garage Find 22 Starcraft Sport Center Console in real nice condition. Your thoughts

I wonder if his mariner is rated at higher capacity. My IO SS is. Wonder if that's extra structure, less flotation, or what on the Islander?

Garage Find 22 Starcraft Sport Center Console in real nice condition. Your thoughts

Yes that's what it is (unless it's been modified). It should list the model on the capacity plate.

    21' Holiday Rebuild

I mostly lucked out painting my transom and my worst missteps were where my kicker bracket mounts and thus mostly obscured. Still need to do the rest of the boat.

    Islander gas tank support

That's the one truly idiotic place that the put crap, apparently untreated wood. I'm no anti-wood zealot but that's just bad, especially snuggled up against water-retaining foam. I fiberglassed and epoxied over replacement ply, and did NOT rivet it down (no penetrations). Removing the mulched...

    They're both suitable.

    Islander gas tank support

Man that 2x4. What were they thinking? "Let's lay some wood right where we KNOW it's gonna wick up water, and use it to support the fuel tank"

    1980 22ft SS V5 rework

Since spring is at least pretending to be here, time to revive this thread. Got her out a few times in the fall. Worked out a few mechanical kinks, and a bit more tuning up in order for this season, as well as more finishing work. Bow storage locker/rod-locker under the front dishing deck...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Sure there are ways to avoid drilling holes below waterline. Could screw in a transducer mount plate above waterline, adhere it to the hull with e.g. 5200 below, and screw into it. Or go all-in on adhesives. Or be like @Watermann and fabricate a mountpoint. You could use a shoot-through...
