Post a pic of your starcraft!

Waiting on the pics of a 29.4hp starcraft.

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Well strictly speaking mine's a sterndrive anyway. I agree that a single later v6 makes more sense in most cases, even if twin towers would be a ton of fun on the right boat.

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Mine is rated for 240. @Watermann had hypothesized that the ratings listed in the brochure were powerplant options rather than ratings (which I disagree, based on that reasoning)

    1980 22ft SS V5 rework

Visiting my parents with the V5 this weekend. Water's down a bit... Fishin's a lot better than the catchin'...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

There were not 120hp TOPs that I am aware of. My comment was regarding a period power option that tallied exactly 240 hp.

It's not motor options. motor options are listed for the IOs only. Can you cite even a single 240hp outboard (or realistic twin engine combo) from the 70s? I can't.

Beginner beginning a complete restoration - Starcraft 18

It's been done of course, with some nice examples here, but if I wanted a center console in the common 18 ft size, I'd spend a good bit of time looking for mariners (and maybe even supersports) before embarking on a full teardown/rebuild of an old, leaky Holiday.

Beginner beginning a complete restoration - Starcraft 18

A center console doesn't make sense unless you also either convert the bow cap into a casting deck or do a "bowectomy". You'd need to reengineer the support structure. If you really wanted to pull the deck without getting in to the stairs and bow, you could. The question that comes to mind is...

    New Journey

Especially with the backups at marine mechanics. Seems like the guys with new engines get down for weeks if something happens.

Beginner beginning a complete restoration - Starcraft 18

Let's see the boat! Amazingly the only leak of note in mine when I got it was the shift bellows on the outdrive. Like @Moserkr says for sure good to fix it right, but (assuming you have the space, ability, and inclination to work on it over the winter) it's not anathema to use a temporary...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Personally I wouldn't look at that HP rating as being based on weight, especially if rebuilding a nice solid transom. Remember that the I/O versions would include a powerplant substantially heavier than a new four stroke 150 (positioned a bit further forward).

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

It's a poor quality image, but if you squint on this old brochure scan you can see that the non-V5 SS HP capacity was listed at "170,150*" with the V5 listed at 240. The * is outboard I think. So pretty sure the 150 is not an error, but rather the non V5 22s were rated for substantially less...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Nice looking boat. Looks in excellent shape except for the bow. If only that were true. There are still the 26 footers (and bigger, less trailerable stuff of course). The only real cure is a flotilla.

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

That one's just down the road. I'd noticed the v5-style strakes poking out from under its cover a couple of weeks ago.

    1980 22ft SS V5 rework

Those or similar are likely what I will use on my hatches. How do you like your positioning on your rear deck fishing seat? I'm debating one central plug in pedestal base vs 2 offset bases (likely only use one at . I decked over my engine so I've got a lot of dance floor to work with and...

    1980 22ft SS V5 rework

Hah, finally took a picture of her in the water! (Tough to photograph a boat from the helm after all...). Fish didn't really cooperate today but a great day on the water anyway. And of course the DNR invasive species reminder folks commented "wow that's a big boat" when we pulled it out.

Height of transom to waterline when resting in water

I've run boats (not starcraft) where you would get water in the splashwell if you went to the stern. Is there a visible muck/waterline on your boat? These boats can sit low in back, if you add more weight they can sit lower, and if the flotation foam is saturated with water they can sit lower...
