    Carb rebuild for Mercury 1F75412CD

If you buy a new carb, it still needs setup to factory specs, they are not drop in and go. In my opinion, get a factory rebuild kit and do the existing carbs. Do them all, not just one !! The rebuild kits will give you the setup specs for the carbs, then you will need a link and sync to get...

    Moving outdrive with engine off?

Why not....I was able to move my Merc outdrive left to right if I pushed and pulled hard. Did that often when greasing the fittings. Steering from the helm was not loose !!

    Boat Pricing

A 26 yr old fiberglass boat, getting to the age of wood rot if it has any wood in the skeleton or frame. Compression test on the engine and a water test minimum. Thorough inspection would be required before any offer..

    E-tec 40 hp

Can't speak for the E Tec motors, but for OB motors in general...that is not many hours ! My 1992 Merc has around 1100 -1200 hours and runs like new, looks like new also...

    2000 70 hp

Has the VRO system been bypassed, or never used on that motor ?? I used to have a '79 70 hp three cylinder, before VRO was out there. Awesome motor, ran great and it was fast. Pulled all the kids on water toys and was run hard. As they say..."they don't build em like they used to" !!

2.5HP Mercury/Tohatsu/Nissan Outboard No Longer Starting

Not the gap on the plug....it is how far the spark will jump a gap. There is a cheap tool that you attach and adjust a gap distance to see if the spark will jump that gap. Weak spark equals shorter gap and hotter/ stronger spark will jump longer gap. You should be jumping around a 3/16 to 1/4...

Old Honda BF75 (7.5hp) Outboard - Looking for fuel connector?

Not that hard to swap out fuel connectors ....

How do I get this ?! Fuel connector off?

Just looking at the pic, it might be a jury-rigged fuel hookup. I believe someone just ran a fuel hose the the fuel inlet and did not use a quick connect fuel hookup at all. Look up Honda outboard fuel connectors and see ...I think that tab is where a fuel connector attaches...just going by...

    Outboard motor weight

They go by HP rating for the hull, not weight of outboard. However with the new 4 strokes being a heavier motor, that might need consideration when adding a newer motor on an older hull rated when lighter weight two stroke motors were the normal.

    bimini top fitment

Another thing to consider is adding a sliding rail so the top can slide forwards or backwards. On my boat, a 36" long rail is attached to the gunwale then the top deck mount can slide forwards or rear wards to create the best shade. Had rails on my last three boats, will never be without them...

    Sylvan Mirage 8420

It might be able to slip it out, but gonna be tight !! No idea what is on the underside of that unit, but might be worth trying to work it out. I don't envy your job !!

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Very rarely do they catch fire for no reason, but, the smallest mistake can create an intense white hot fire in seconds that water does not put out !! Lifepo4 are much improved and more forgiving !!

    Marina Slip Safe?

In the poster's description of the slip he mentioned 9.5 ft wide, then later stated it was for a boat with a 9.5' beam... Not gonna put a 9.5' beam boat in a 9.5' slip, without a shoe horn !! Better recheck his dimensions.

    Largest outboard starcraft

I recall both Star craft and Sylvan make 21/22' aluminum outboard hulls. To my knowledge the 24/25' models were cuddy cabins. An open bow or decked run about would be easy to convert to your own specs.

    Marina Slip Safe?

How much and how often does the water level go up and down ? How good of a pilot are you ?? Only 6" on each side.....from all your dimensions it looks like a very tight fit to me !! Also check into your insurance, slipping normally costs more, Due to a better chance of theft.

Baltimore bridge hit by ship, collapsed

When a major support is taken out, design won't change anything, it will collapse. Bridges cannot be built rigid, they need to move and sway or they will self destruct. Best scenario is a wall, rock pile or other protective device to protect the support. But in reality, how does anyone stop...
