    Parallel battery specs

why would you have a fire or explosion ?, just curious. from my understanding , correct me if i am wrong , so long as both batteries are 12v , only the amperage could change if both battery's are different to one and other. ? would the alternator only charge and input what the battery's can...

    Parallel battery specs

I'm no battery expert ,the battery's are going to be hooked up parallel so as long as they are both 12v all will be well .as the 12 v is still going to be 12v at the end of the line. running in series is a whole other ball game.

    305 boat cam

if you go to a roller cam and lifters from flat tappet you will also need to mess with lash ,rocker ratios and possibly other stuff in the head department like springs to stop spring bind , you will also have to get the correct push rods. and possibly splash trays in the valley ,there is also...

    2003 Mercury 90HP 4 Stroke Grounds

moving the ground wires to the correct place was a good move , however i doubt that is your issue. im guessing you have a dodgy coil .quite common on that model motor and Yamahas with the same PH. the coils are connected to 2 plugs so when you loose a coil you get no power to 2 cylinders...

Manifolds (Trying to figure out what I am looking at)

on the subject of gaskets: i only use OEM head gaskets on Mercruiser motors , been caught out using feproo shyt on marine engines with leaks and what not ( over priced rubbish is my opinion). OEM head gaskets ( generally cheaper in the long run) have a heat activated glue , it activates on...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

i too have had merks including a 90 4stroke which IMO was one of the best merks i have ever had :) only because it was a Yamaha power head. the motor i had years back was similar to the one you posted a pic of 65 hp i think , engine block is still up the shed ,as in pic, ,ended up stripping...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

anyone correct me if i am wrong here ,from memory ?? , that motor was never fitted with PTT , possibly a PTT unit from another model may be adapted. PTT is a necessity on any boat IMHO , buying a motor with no PTT is going to be a big let down. take a look at some V4 Johnsons / Evinrude's ...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

you are correct , most foam is located in the lower part of hulls , however in some cases it is put into obscure places , so be aware when chopping it out that it was probably put there from the manufacture for a reason IE dampening to stop rattles , to filling voids , to cover ugly spiky...
