    My new trucklet!

Yeah, I'm figuring that Hyundai will have a full blown all-electric Santa Cruz within 3 or 4 years, so I'll probably trade this one in at that time.

Where do I belong? Alum Goods 1687, SS16 Clone?

I kept mine in the fridge and it lasted a long time there.

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

Yah, I read a ton about them when I was searching to power the Chief. The light weight was a big factor. I know about re-jetting the top carb one size richer to prevent leaning out.

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

I bought the pair of 70s specifically for the Chieftain to provide reliability and adequate power to get back to shore quickly if the need arises. Cool factor is definitely a bonus! 😁😎

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

Yeah, me too! And it was two tarps... 😫 I really regret having neglected this old beauty for so long, but will do what I can to get it back on the water. I have no idea how long it's been ashore, but there were several owners prior to me who had it as a project and they never did anything...

Okay. Is there a way to link just a single post or maybe a page?

    My new trucklet!

We've finally started my Chieftain project and after blasting 6 years of mold and grime off the boat this afternoon, we took it down to my favorite spot for a few pictures. The little truck towed the big Chief with total aplomb.

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

Today we got the pressure washing done, then headed to the water for some sunset pictures. Pulled the Chief out of the backyard. Six years of mold and grime about to be blasted off! ;) The boy has grown quite a bit over the last year and is very useful. Getting it done. Yes, I was...

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

Got a little more cleanup done today. Next step will be pressure washing at the car wash.

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

Port engine on stand. Mulched deck was next. Starcraft OEM foam still in place. Foam removed. I was very happy to see that this Chief has the factory reinforced splash rail and rib end braces installed. Whew! Next steps will be additional cleanup followed by pressure washing at a...

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

There's going to be a ton of work needed. The starboard engine doesn't have tilt and trim (TnT) but I have a TnT unit under the blue tarp in the cabin area. That'll have to get mounted and I've never done that before. As always, I'll have to learn as I go. We got the big stuff out of the...

And today we started the cleanup. Somewhere underneath all that grossness is a... Chieftain!

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

Guys, I'm gonna try. I have several project options to choose from. Better, faster, cheaper (pick 2.) With my health conditions and other issues, I can't guarantee that it'll actually get done. But I'm gonna try. Yesterday we got started. Installed a new trailer jack...

How do you like the spray foam? It's one of the options I'm considering for my garage too.

    My new trucklet!

The factory hitches became available and I had one installed last week, along with the wiring harness with 7-pin connector. Got the trailer lights all working, hooked the KF up to the SC and took it for a test drive to get some sunset pix. The SC pulled the KF like it wasn't even there. I'm...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We got the new trailer lights installed a week ago. Found 4 bad grounds in the process and I'm happy to say that everything is working correctly now. :D We did a test drive a couple days ago to get some sunset pix with my new trucklet and the trailer lit up nicely. Didn't launch the boat, but...
