My First StarCraft; 1975 18' SuperSport

That wasn't too bad of a smoke screen, I laid one a quarter mile long on my Merc's first run back in March. Fogging oil and too much hammering on the enricher made for quite the cloud when I took off from the dock. :D

1989 Starcraft Islander 221V repair and repower

Welcome to the fray, nice to see a hard top Islander come around for some love. Personally I really like the 4.3L over a 3.0 4 banger especially in a 22'r.

Which 'aluminum acid wash' to use inside hull - restoration

He has a thread on his boat I just remembered with pics of the corrosion and has been getting repair advice in the SC section. He seemed to be doing a good job too and getting advice from classiccat. :unsure...

Which 'aluminum acid wash' to use inside hull - restoration

Removing corrosion from pitting is extremely difficult and the home DIY guys in the Starcraft forum have used a number of products depending on the severity of the corrosion. Some pics of what you're dealing with would help with what advice to give. Minor surface corrosion with shallow pitting...

    1988 Starcraft Mariner MR 220 V rebuild

No way to cover all the various models with exacting information for each item attached to the boat. So I simplified this in the sticky and just gave a ball park for solids 2 AL layers 3/8" L and 3 layers 7/16" L which will accommodate all of the variations to include the never totally flush...

    Newbie with 76 holiday

Welcome aboard, good on you for taking on the challenge of a 45 year old tin boat. It's a good deal that they they upgraded to the 3.0L 4 banger over the old original 2.5L. In a light Holly/SS that 140 MC will move pretty good.

    19?? Starcraft Jetstar

Yeah for sure, this year in cold March I got my SS out for walleye and the normally reliable Merc wasn't fired up at home first. The cylinders were full of fogging oil and she coughed and sputtered for some time before coming to life.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

I really like this trailer set up, that's what I look for in my new ones too low slung bunk with side steps by the fenders. (y) Large full size wheels and tires are nice to have too. :)

Looks gray and choppy but a good splash none the less is what it's all about. (y)

Yeah 😂 I added a Merc God raised gel decal to my 115 and liked the look.

    1973 ISLANDER REFIT

I can only give advice based on my experience my IO Starcraft. Although I can say that older models prior to late 70's have no spray rail chine or rib end braces, IOs 18' and over are very susceptible to cracking in those areas due to the weight of cast iron. In other words check those areas...

    1973 ISLANDER REFIT

The major leaks are probably due to the rotten transom the IO transom assembly needs to have a solid transom or it will leak and sink your boat. Plywood if sealed and the boat taken care of properly will last many decades and most likely a lifetime. Anything left for the elements to ravage...

Starcraft Arrow does anyone have original pictures

Not many of us here are very familiar with or have materials for the glass models myself included. It is a cute little runabout though. :)

1975 StarCraft Mariner build "The Unicorn"

Yeah my SS was in 3 pieces too, not too many follow that and opt for a solid single piece. Those that have done 3 pieces to use less plywood used biscuits to join them to make it more solid.

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

You pasted in the link to the previous 16'r not the nice old Chief. Not sure I care for the trailer jack so much.

1975 StarCraft Mariner build "The Unicorn"

You'll need 2 sheets of plywood due to the outsides of the transom being over 24". Also what plywood do you plan on using and the adhesive? I'm not a huge fan of using epoxy in over drilled holes mainly due to the tightening of bolts against the plug and how well it would take compression over...
