    Prime and Paint Aluminum Boat

A quick bit of advice for masking a hardline. Do your big area first, leaving a small bit of unmasked surface above it. Finish with one line of tape. That way, you only have to peel a tape line when you're done, and don't risk dropping paper into fresh paint.

Avoid the rivets with the da, just lightly hit those by hand. I don't think you really need the heavier grit for the bare spots, but it won't hurt if you do. I would suggest getting the whole thing in primer and sanded. Then you mask off for the color you want to spray that day. Spray one...

82 Starcraft MR 180 floor, slight refit and leaks

Sorry I didn't help with the foam. I haven't gotten any notifications for this thread for some reason. These are my usual tools for taking out foam. Cut it into squares, whack the big flat bar into the cuts, and bust it out. There's no need to grind it out with the wire wheel.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

"Finest work" isn't the important part. Is it comfortable? If so, then it's perfect.

The boss did say the out drive had to be replaced.

Really? I've usually found Cobalts to be pretty well made. I've never seen one with a large area of bond like this.

A couple things today. First, a small flake job. This is actually the second time I've sprayed it, because I got flake on the upper and lower blends and it burned through. Hopefully all goes well this time. I tried covering a few strays with a red sharpie because they were closer to the blends...

Sorry, we don't remove those inboard motors. That was done somewhere else.

First up, a 2023 Cobalt R6 Surf. The owners don't know what they hit, but it broke the transom in half. This happened on their first time out.

I work in a repair shop, so I get a bit of variety in the kinds of boats and damage I see. This is just going to be a thread of stuff I think might be interesting to look at.

Your boat isn't very big. The ribs along the bottom, and how the side panels attach to the floor and hull should give plenty of support. Bigger ones do have structural cross pieces and another set of stringers.

    Mueller boat hill repIr

It would be best if you can get to it from the inside, but you probably can't. For a hole that size, you'll at least need to fill it with thickened resin before it's glassed. If it gets any bigger from grinding, you might need a more solid backer...

I bet if you dig around in the bilge, you'll find some extra hardware too :)

Should I start a work thread?

Well, I'll have to figure out how to reduce the file size of my photos. I have a good one to start with.

Should I start a work thread?

I thought about that after. I won't post any shop info in the thread, but it could still be argued that this counts as advertising. I won't post the shop's info in the thread. Is that fine?

Should I start a work thread?

Since I work in a repair shop, I see a bit of variety in boats and damage. I could start a thread with pictures of what I'm doing. Would it be entertaining for the regulars here, or would it be too much like stroking my own ego?
